    The first thing I would do is reboot the network.
    Step 1: Unplug modem and router. (Don't mix up power cords.)
    If you unplug the modem and there are still lights on then you know there is a battery in it
    somewhere and need to remove that also so the power is off completely. This is the case for a
    lot of new routers that comcast uses because of there voice over IP thing, its so users can still
    make emergency 911 calls If needed.
    Step 2: Let it sit off for 3 min at least.
    Comcast modems are especially picky and need a few min. I give em 5.
    Step 3: Plug in the modem. Let it boot up fully, just give it a min.
    Step 4: Plug in the router.
    Step 5: Turn on your PC and give it a go.
    Still lagging????
    Step 6: Run a long wire to the router from the PC. It doesn't have to look pretty, just for testing purposes.
