I'm not saying your choice is bad, but that bold part is an opinion.I personnaly (not saying your choice is any less valid) don't want that many weapons, Omega and Ultima are FF, the others give the staples less of an impact, what I would like is Omega and/or Ultima to be the kind of mob only the most dedicated players will see, kind of like kings in FFXI, AV etc to add more atmosphere when you fight them (and not like Ultima where the effort wasn't worth the reward as much as the alternative.)
Who doesn't know about Ruby and Emerald Weapon?
Who are you to say what is FF when it is in a main FF title?

Staples of the series are in more than one FF game, things like Omega and Ultima, themes around the moon, Crystals, having wierd kids in the party, Cid, Biggs and Wedge, reoccuring jobs etc etc, these are the things that make FF what it is.
One appearance of something, just because it was the most popular game in the series doesn't make it a staple, if you think of Final Fantasy, the first thing that comes into your mind is not Ruby or Emerald weapon its the more traditional things.
I disagree with you again. For example not all characters, monsters, and summons reoccur in every FF, they might skip a few titles before showing up again. Final Fantasy XIV in the other hand can have everything.Staples of the series are in more than one FF game, things like Omega and Ultima, themes around the moon, Crystals, having wierd kids in the party, Cid, Biggs and Wedge, reoccuring jobs etc etc, these are the things that make FF what it is.

Ruby and Emerald can be stronger, and if done right, the devs can provide more content down the line. I don't want to be Fighting Ultima/Omega forever all the way up to lv99..
They may not appear in every one, but its the ones that are in the majority, right now, tell me how many FF games have no link to Crystals? how many have no links to the moon? how many have no kids in? how many have no summoners in? how many have no White Mages in?I disagree with you again. How many have Emerald and Ruby Weapons in?
A lot. Everyone can summon.. Everyone can use magics.. Guess what, they all in main FF titles too. Don't bait and switch. lolThey may not appear in every one, but its the ones that are in the majority, right now, tell me how many FF games have no link to Crystals? how many have no links to the moon? how many have no kids in? how many have no summoners in? how many have no White Mages in?

The differance is what I am saying are reoccuring elements what you choose is elements from ONE game. We should have Blitzball thats a staple everyone has heard of it, or what about the Gardens from FFVIII who hasn't heard of them?
we're talking about monsters we want in the game.. don't bait and switch, and derail the thread with your personal choice of what makes a Final Fantasy.
