Comparatively it's not a lot, and besides since there are other things to do as you claim it is meaningless to cause people such agony and frustration by retrying something over and over and essentially not rewarding the hard efforts of players.

Seeing as you can now trade Ifrit weapons (Come next patch of course...) in for Grand Company seals I don't see an increase at all. Depending on how many seals they're worth you could very well see this as a means of earning seals repeatedly if they boosted the drop rate. Honestly I think it's fine as is... And yes this discussion has been overdone one too many times already.
The OP is quite right however, people crying about Ifrit drop rates are indeed children. :P
It isn't all that bad, when compared to Dark Light drops. You are talking about one of the three best weapons in the game. Dark Light, in what I've seen, seems to be much, much, worse. Though the problem with both is the fact it is based on luck, not skill.
