No trailer at E3 LOL @ SE

I'm with this guy. How am I supposed to judge how 2.0 will look without a non-gameplay, pre-rendered cinematic?

Not many of us here want a cinematic. We wanted vers 1.0 to 2.0 gameplay comparison. People here for what-ever reason solely believe that if and when they release a trailer it will only be CGI.

Um...Roadmap to 2.0 on the front page with pictures. Some of those are ACTUAL images. While there is a lot of drawn images there...if you look at the small cells some of them have actual new area footage. If it wasn't real it was clearly marked concept. But there's some solid footage in there if you zoom in closely you might see some interesting things.

NO man, I think its more that people are tired of being strung along each time we reach an important deadline they set for themselves. Regardless of their reasons, telling people to expect big things about 2.0 at E3 this year for over a year and then pulling the plug on that just days before its set to go down, FOR WHATEVER REASON, is lame and does not give me and other long time players warm and fuzzy feelings inside about this company. You would think with as much dissapointment as this game has generated over the last 2 years, the company would try to focus on not dissapointing their player base any more than they already have, in any form.

Thats like me hyping your birthday present for a year, and then on your birthday going, oh man I forgot it, but I will bring it by next week, promise! No matter how cool it is after that its still pretty lame you didn't do what you say you were going to do all year. End of story.

What I dont get is their reasoning. "because they dont want to trickle but release a bunch"..... and yet we're getting a teaser site. Seems.... ummm contradictory?

My second biggest issue, is because they will never have another chance like E3 before 2.0's release to advertise like this again. It impacts so much of the gaming community.

Sides...the trailer could reveal too much about how the 7th umbral era will end...so let us all soak up the remaining bits of the 7th umbral before it goes away...

if there was any truth about this then SE deserves to go bankrupt. Let's spit on millions of potential new players so we don't spoil a bad story to existing and small player base who don't give a rat's ass about the current story and are only playing the game because of a 2.0 promise....

You weren't taking me seriously, were you? I could give two flukes (flukes) about a CGI trailer. I want details and images and big walls of text explaining things. CGI trailers are pretty, but they're not informative.

The only thing we've learned is that the CGI trailer won't be there, not that there'll be nothing at all. And, like I said; it's only E3.

This is actually a really, really, good and interesting point. I'm not saying this is how it went but what if it's as simple as:

"Ok! E3 is coming up! Trailer ready?"
"Wait...we put in a lot of stuff involving what Dalamud causes."
"Oh no...all that 7th Umbral stuff?"
"Yea, the trailer is pretty revealing."
"Ok, ok. We'll have to hold off on releasing the trailer until the events are caught up."

idk. i think SE shot themselevs in the foot either way. Cause alot of people wouldve been pissed with the trailer if the trailer was only the differences between when the game first came out, till now. or if it didnt show any ingame trailers. or imo if they showed any story of dalamud hitting cause only we are suppose to see that. but by backing out shots themselves cause it makes ppl think they had nothing thus diminishing morale even further.

Media loves taking 1 "potential" bad thing and writes a whole article on how its bad "to them". I don't find that a good source. when they didn't give the whole letter stating THERE WILL BE SOME SORT OF 2.0 COVERAGE THERE..

Well, the public release of version 2.0 is set to kickoff with this year’s E3 in Los Angeles.

Until they ninja edit this, or a mod comes here to tell us otherwise, there will be E3 coverage on 2.0.. We are just NOT having the FFXIV Trailer!
