It completely baffles me, there is all this talk about wanting new players, but who the heck is going to see it during August?!

Its a really bad time, there's nothing big going on, summer vacations just hit for a lot of countries. I just dont see it working, how are they going to catch the eyes of "so many new players" when theres no news around and people not "looking out" for things.

dont get it. I think PR hope the game fails lol.

I’m in Japan right now, but will soon be winging my way to LA for E3.

In order to make version 2.0 a success, we need to appeal to not only our current players (naturally!), but also as many new players as possible, including PS3 owners.

Which is why he's going to E3 in the first place or why go?

New Players know about game and they will keep tabs on the Website for new Info if not that but the Marketing Campaign, which I am SURE they know what they are doing with that, Depends on how they do it, will just have to see on that.

but as far as appease new players at E3, that's most likely his main objective.

Ahh I forgot my /sarcasm tags again didn't I, I thought it would be obvious with the part of the letter I quoted. People have been saying it won't be there they will have nothing to show etc so I my sarcasm was justified.

Umm, Yoshi posted saying there would be Gameplay footage too.

But not anymore now, i think most people were excited about that, than the Trailer.

Show me where he says there will be no gameplat at E3? All I saw was there will be no trailer (which would probably be CGI, and people here didn't care about, they just wanted gameplay)

The question is, how long that gameplay bit would be. A few seconds like last time? We don't know. Also, like Delsus said, they can still show gameplay, but not the CGI movie.

Yes, I'd like to see new zones and more of the new engine, but that's because we already have a lot of info on the game. Their main goal is to get NEW players, or people they lost interested in the game. Simply showing a trailer won't do, and they've realized that.

The optimal would be to show the trailer AND the new info they plan to release, but for whatever reason they decided against the trailer. I named one possible reason, time will tell.

oh and Starlord, i got that, with next weeks letter. but after more than 2 months it would have just been nice to get the whole survey thing at once.

hmmm i forgot about gamescom that on aug so i'm guessing he waiting for that seeing how alpha gameplay was played in gamescom putting a video or even a taste of 2.0 sound right there really not a lot of EU players so getting more players there would be a better market plan but not doing something big for E3 still seem weird too me.
