People are only whining because some people has really been looking forward to this year's E3 just for FFXIV trailer. It is definitely a let down especially when its only a week until E3. While, people maybe understand the circumstances, but it's not a misplaced vent, nobody likes broken promises.

Well, if they'll compensate with some solid 2.0 interviews and screens, i would be satisfied.
Also if seeing something moving would be more intriguing..
So true lolPeople are only whining because some people has really looking forward to this year's E3 just for FFXIV trailer.

how is holding stuff off would help FFXIV get ps3 players? pretty much the video may be release in Japan which would give them more JP players for ps3 but how would that help them get more NA players? or could we look at this as they don't want to do marketing in NA because sadly NA players like more wow type games and they don't forget how bad ffxiv was release and would try it even if they fix it? because when i talk to NA players about ffxiv they just laugh at me. lol
i mean that could be one way of looking at it i don't see any other reason on holding off the video if it not for TGS or the EU version of E3

I'm sure they have their Reason, don't get me wrong I'm upset too, but Its coming in August. I rather have other things shown at E3 anyhow, then some silly CGI anyhow.
Their plan of Attack is a Marketing Campaign in August.. not sure what they mean like a Commercial, or Going around Each Country putting up posters and talking to people about it.. Not sure how they would do this to appease ALOTs of people.. but will see I suppose.the most effective way to introduce version 2.0 to the world would be with a flood of new material rather than just a trickle.
Sounds like E3 is going to be more for the people who haven't touched the game or tossed it aside at the very beginning and never looked back.In order to make version 2.0 a success, we need to appeal to not only our current players (naturally!), but also as many new players as possible, including PS3 owners.
BUT HE ALSO SAID THIS:
So from E3's end to Marketing Campaign and Beyond, they will be added new 2.0 stuff to the New Promotional Website. After E3, we will be releasing new information in stages. Please be advised that the promotion will also target new players who have never seen or played FFXIV so it will include content you may all be already familiar with. Don’t worry; I’m planning to include new content for the existing players too. Stay tuned!
So to me, its not a bad deal, ( as long as their marketing strat. works to draw in 10's and 100's of thousands of players then I'm all for it)

I am a bit disapointed but I think is a good move. A flood of info un mid august sounds good for me.

LOL no trailer at E3, SE you can seriously F off now, if you think you can let your fans down again and shrug E3 off like this then your game deserves to fail.
Seems after all this time you still haven't learnt anything.
Some people can't read can they -.-.
That is referring to E3, Appeal the crowd with Version 1.0 ( maybe a sneak peak at Version 2.0 for hype), Marketing Campaign= Flood of 2.0 information, TGS will most likely have 2.0 their as well, which is just as big as E3, its just in Tokyo, Japan. In order to make version 2.0 a success, we need to appeal to not only our current players (naturally!), but also as many new players as possible, including PS3 owners.
Also: Remember Trailer for FFXIV 1.0? Remember how THAT went down? They don't want to make the same mistake again, which is probably why they withdrew the Trailer till August. They have more important things at hand at E3 that Yoshi-P IS attending afterall... why would he go their to just twiddle his thumbs.. :/.
