    I think this is a very good fix. Not being able to use all gear slot is annoying. Also, I find that generally more lower costing accessories compared to fewer high costing accessories makes no reason for an upgrade other than having fewer repairs. Either increasing accessory slot points with Rank or making minimum accessory slot Rank requirements for each accessory individually.

    Honestly while it's not that big of an issue, it's still an issue. There's no reason for such a system to exist, they should have just balanced out the accessory stats from the start.

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders.     Not to have a dig at you personally but I think you might not see the effects of the current system as you should only be using lower level gear which has a low slot cost so you can equip a lot more items than a higher level can when the slot costs increase.

    As others have said I would like the slot amount to increase as you level, I don't like having a lot of empty slots ; ;

    Also as a Goldsmith the current slot cost has a huge effect on the demand for higher level gear due to it's high slot cost, so it makes it difficult to sell.

    Why are so many people calling for gear restrictions? We already have them - you really don't get much benefit from a piece of gear until you're within a few levels of it.

    No, I see the effects, I just don't think they're a big deal. The system simply maxes you mix and match, rather than just throwing everything into an open slot. It's mildly more strategic, which is a good thing in my book. I think it's mostly a case that people don't like it because change is scary. That, or they simply can't be bothered to actually think about what they're equipping.

    What I find interesting is that this limit only applies to "accessories". I wonder if they intended to introduce gear (armor and stuff) that increase slot limit.

    The problem is that the system is incredibly vague and most people don't know how to look for the actual effects of the gear. What's listed on the card for the gear is not what you get and that honestly doesn't make any sense to me. Rank requirements are fine and people who use the current system properly should have absolutely no problems with them as you already impose the requirement upon yourself.

    That's the problem though, it's only "mildly" more strategic. It doesn't add much value to the system as it is. If they just balanced out the stats of accessories as a whole and let us wear whatever we want there wouldn't be any discussion about it. You still have choice and should still think about what you're equipping. The gemmed pieces of jewelry still give you options whether you can equip 2 or 6.
