Is it true that only 8 people on the server at any given time can do lvl 40 escort for your Grand Company? That is unbelieveable.

8 people each 15 minutes for each caravans. But this isn't new
I got 390 seals from the level 20 caravan in camp tranquil solo and below 8 minutes ^^

is it just me or caravan is totally broken for seals?
I'm getting 750 per run.
Lets say it takes 8 minutes to do a run, 5 on waiting. 12 Minutes. Lets add 3 minutes to account for sucky parties.
750 seals in 15 minutes.
3000 seals in 60 minutes.
Added to that come 1.22b we will be able to trade in avatar weapons for seals...
Some of the best weapons in this game are 6,500 seals. That's two hours 15 minutes of walking with some npcs against some joke like enemies.
If not lower the seals at least steepen the difficulty. By a lot.
A few things I think should be remembered which makes this a little more difficult then it might appear:
1) You do have to find people in your same grand company, so you can do this (at the rate you are saying)
2) To qualify for the weapon you do have to pay a lot of seals to get the promotion so you can buy it
3) The weapon is not 'that great' the moment you want to use it for any really challenging dungeon (since you die you loose sanction)
But I think the biggest equalizer is that to get the 3k seals/hr, you need to have 8 good people all of the same grand company. Which may not be the easiest thing for a lot of people to get together. Some people are fortunate to have a lot in their company, some not so much.
On a side note:
If you did 5-man DH run in 30 minutes, you would probably get about 1500 seals per person. After about 2-3 hours you would have enough to buy the same weapon.
So in this sense there is some balance (no need for same grand company, just need 5 good people who know it well).

I remember people complained Property of Beastmen cost 25,000 Seals...is it just me or caravan is totally broken for seals?

The difference being that if you are working towards other achievements like total number of regional leves completed, gil earned from leves and getting faction points for faction achieves, you aren't wasting a leve allowance and progressing to the other achievementsOr you could just accept the bad leve from the guy and then abandon it.One tip I can give to people doing company leves is to pick up 4 leves for the camp you are going to. If the company leve vendor offers a non /poke leve, do a normal one. This resets what he has to offer. Not perfect and it uses up leve allowances on normal leves but it helps with getting decent leves.

Poke leves only take 5 mins though. I can do 10 an hour for 2400 seals an hour.
Im trying to figure out what the exact criteria for getting 750 seals is. I get 500 most of the time and 750 sometimes. We kill all the enemies, chocos take little or no dmg, and complete the escort in less than 8 minutes. What am I doing wrong?

You're doing nothing wrong. There is a chance (not a guarantee) that the chocobo escort run will be "HQ", as in more, slightly higher level enemies. This type qualifies for the bonus. The npc at the end will say you get a larger reward because of the extra effort that was necessary.
This is the general chart:
Lvl 25 NQ --~200-210 seals
Lvl 25 HQ --~355-365 seals
Lvl 45 NQ --~500-510 seals
Lvl 45 HQ --~755-765 seals
