Missing Genders: A request for Male Miqote, Female Highlander, and Female Roegadyn

Those three characters look nothing like the characters presented in the opening movie. Other then one of them having similar hair to one character. But a huge majority of elvaan males pick that hairstyle anyway.

You obviously didn't follow my instructions and watch the movie as directed. If fact, pull the movie up in one window and place the concept art in a window beside it. Freeze-frame as you go along. Note the detail in the armor, the shape of the metal details on the tunics worn, the color of the fabric, the complete character presented in the final edit; not simply their face. After you've done this, feel free to post another reply.

Sorry, I should have elaborated. Similar armor can't be used as a determination of what a certain concept art is for in game. The concept art for Stalthmann looks nothing like his final incarnations in game (Past and Present) Hell his appearances in the pre-release trailers changed drastically from how he was in his final incarnations as well

The central character in that sketch is decidedly male, most of the artstyles being used on him are things only specifically used on male character or masculine female characters (Namely the facial shape, the neck lines, and shoulder shape along with the whole total lack of breast.)

I'm not fond of the Female Roegadyn idea. I chose Roegadyn (Galka) because it is sex neutral.

Decidedly male by a group of players who support the addition of male Miqotes to the game. This has not been confirmed by SquareEnix as concept art for a male Miqote which, again, makes this claim flawed as evidence to support it's existence.

As stated, so those who don't read my OP don't get confused, I'm all for these added gender options but I don't think you should throw out claims that can not be proven. The concept art is rough and could easily be viewed as a female character as well as a male. The lack of evident breast could be due to the full-body armor and face-forward position of the character. It doesn't automatically prove that the character is a male.

Sure, armor can't be a deciding factor when comparing concept art to a final product but, again, I ask you to look at the concept as a whole. Look at all three character in the concept art provided and the three characters presented in the opening movie and tell me, again, that you don't see where I'm coming from with my claim. It's as reasonable as your own.

Also, thank you for pointing that out, about the concept art being those 3 in the opening video. I have no doubt in my mind now that it's them. All but the hyur they have the same hair, and they all have the same clothing. I always did see a female miqo'te when I looked at that picture anyways. :3 "Lack of breasts" doesn't work because of it looking at her straight on, and the armor she wears.
Interesting that it's them...With the hyur's hair I would never have guessed it was the same people till I saw them side by side. Thanks for showing us! ^-^

Personally, I have yet to see any image that I KNOW 100% is a male miqo'te. There is one I think LOOKS like a man, but I have no proof of that and so will not state it as fact.

I'm just glad that I could provide another point of view to the players, even though it doesn't support my own opinion on the missing genders, and I'm happy to see that it was appreciated.

I'm in the same boat with the images that have been floating around of 'male Maqotes'. I just can't accept, 100%, that they aren't simply masculine or poorly drawn images of female characters without an official comment from SquareEnix. As for the image that looks a lot like it could be a male character; I can guess which one you're thinking of and I believe it's provided in this thread's OP. That is an image that, I too, believe looks a lot like a male Miqote and, if it is, I really hope it's a foreshadow of features to come.

Yes, that's the one. ^-^ If I had to take a guess I'd say it was male at first glance. No way of knowing for sure unless the person who drew it or SE tells us.
I don't feel that we need proof of some sort in images of male miqo'te or other races though. We have already been told that their designs were finished. That's enough proof of some sort of existence. (That and the actual text about them in game and lore). We don't need to take a picture and say "Look! this is what we're talking about." When we don't know that it is for sure. We have our proof they exist already.
Though it would be neat to see male miqo'te concept art. I would like to see some for the other missing genders as well. I bet that would make everyone here really happy.

It doesn't appear to be hyur, and it appears to be more almost Roegadyn like, but the hair is much longer then all the possible Roegadyn hair styles, its also longer then any of the elezen male or female, or and of the hyur highlander, or midlander male or female styles.

True. Proof was a poor choice of words on my part. The lore and, apparently, the character models already exist. It's been stated in previous interviews as well as in-game. Concept art simply can't be used to defend our position as to how quickly/easily the development team could implement this feature or how seriously SquareEnix could be considering the idea.
