I'm suprised nobody else likened the moon getting closer to the exact same thing happening in Zelda: Majora's Mask. Outside of the use of time travel, they basically ripped the concept straight from that game.

I linked it more to the lunar cry in concept as it's pretty much going to change the world (and is basically a weapon, but in LC case, monsters) rather than flatout leveling clocktown...err ul'dah.
