I know this is late in the topic, but how do you know (since this was posted in another area) that they also got the same concept art in their box that we got in ours? They might have, but it's a little too early to assume.

...why people keep stating that what is in game matters? this is concept art?

If it doesnt make it in 2.0 can they show it of again as 3.0 concept art? then it doesnt make it in 3.0 NO WORRIES 4.0 CONCEPT ART!

Not to be off topic, but I don't really want to see a behemoth mount
*spoilers* in one of the pugilist quests they mention people in Ishgard breeding and raising Behemoth pets, but I don't know... I would kind of like to see Behemoths be a little more revered
We might be going a little "Mount Crazy" when you factor in the 2 we already have, plus drakes and Ahriman

To the actual point of this thread... I haven't seen the entire images yet so I'll reserve judgement. If one happens to be the exact launch behemoth concept art then that would be disappointing, but truthfully haven't we all grown desensitized to large companies stretching the truth to generate buzz? It sucks, but it's pretty commonplace now.

Think Car Dealers using the term "Like new" or food manufacturers saying "All natural"

新生 = Shinsei is the name used for 2.0... they put 新生コンセプトアート 2.0 Concept Art.....

I think this post pretty much explains it.
新生コンセプトアート literal translation is "rebirth concept art." the first character's literal translation is "new."

the translator probably got mixed up. /shrug

and as for people arguing that it's not "2.0 concept art" because it existed before 2.0 was announced... it's being used for 2.0. as a guiding concept. it's art. (put that together).

Even regardless weather it says theirs is new, it is still a lie saying "2.0 concept art" when this was drawn way before XIV was released, unless SE knew they were going to fail, fire half the staff and rebuild the entire game from scratch.

Call me crazy but the image they posted in the announcement is not a behemoth.

I am surprised by the level of disappointment though. I didn't think it would be this high.

Compare the FFXIV opening movie to the actual gameplay... now THAT is some trickery...

And hey OP, you consider possibly hiding images that people may not want you to show them? I know you think you are fighting the good fight against SE's horrible terrifying insulting word choices...but hey superman, I don't want you to save me.

The image in the announcement is the American image. This is about the Japanese one which isn't new in spite of:

We have painstakingly procured all-new concept art from the development team precisely for this purpose

Maybe they mean only the American one will have new images, maybe it was a translation flub, maybe it's a dumb PR stunt. Who knows but the reps?
