The way it's said above just makes it sound like concept art that will be used in 2.0 not "all new" concept art that will be put into the game. However perhaps it's worded differently because we're getting something new while for some odd reason the japanese got a Behemoth lol.

I do understand the oddity that the one who's taking care of the japanese one is also doing the american one but perhaps it just means our art will actually be new art. At least from the way I read the japanese contest it just sounds like they are getting concept art that'll be used in the new FF14, but at the same time remember when this contest is over we'll be able to download these high resolution images to use as wallpaper or just some nice candy, so really it's just a dinky little game where everyone wins.

That's not the point though, now is it? This thread is all about the injustice of SE's lying to the players. I have merely suggested someone check the actual event in question (the JP event that is) before claiming that they have lied. The wording of the event implicitly says that each event is separate. Meaning the description of one language cannot in good conscience be applied to the other languages' events.

If the english loc team somehow managed to translate japanese "concept art" as "all new concept art" then i think hey need to replace their loc team...speaking of which, they are hiring aren't they?

^^ New concept art is, at least to me, pretty major stuff. Especially considering that we haven't really seen anything new since the PDF file. So I don't agree that this is just "anything".

It could be that the JP got old concept art and the english loc team "painstakingly" procured "new concept art" for the NA players resulting in the JP being shown behemoth and the NA being shown ???mysterypic???

If that were the case, I withold my grudge. But if it's an erorr due to translation, flameon.

To the people complaining about players being upset and offended sugesting they should just quit, these are obviously players who enjoy the game and have invested in it.

Speaking up about an obvious lie is an expression of disappointment, what on earth is wrong with that? The game has had a lot of new content come out recently and that's great. So why would you pull a stunt like this saying you have exciting new concept art that is painstakingly scanned from the CE book. Even if you're pretty new to the game, if you've searched for concept art or images related to the game you're very likely to have come accross it before.

They would have been much better off doing nothing than trying to get away with this and frustrating people.
