I don't think they should add anything to the title, they didn't when FFXI was brought to the Xbox did they? It's just another release on a new platform. I agree we need more 'meat' before this happens, sorely in fact. If they can get this game up to a shape I can lure my friends back and make the ones waiting for a Ps3 release happy, I will be over the moon.

For the 360 no. However, for the NA release for ps2 they released an expansion. JP release FFXI was horrible at until a year later. Which is why most speculate or believe they should release an expansion to help lure people.
Would be hard to just lure people with just some updated trailers.

Do we know if this game will be supported with boxed expansions or just massive downloads like they do in Lineage 2? I forget *blush*

I expect the game to be finished late this year, early next year. A few months after that they can release the PS3 version, including an expansion and start asking for monthly fees.

You do know that they still produce new PS2 games in Japan right? And the PS3 still has only ever been used at 100% capacity by one developers (Naughty Dog for Uncharted 2) The PS4 is in development but I don't expect to see it on shelves for atleast two and a half more years. Which is about how long the PS2 version of XI was available in the US before the PS3 was announced.

IIRC from an interview with naughty dog. The cell processor is what does 90% of the graphic processing in Uncharted 2. The GPU only does graphical rendering effects like screen effects durring certain seens. The reason developers keep having a hard time and complain about programming for the Cell Processor is because they keep forgetting it can act as a GPU on its own and does not need a full power GPU in tandem to do all the things a GPU can do.
