    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    You have to go back a month and a half, because the quote is from the letter at the end of March. It says in his road map there that there is a "high likelihood of a 1.22a release" and then he says at the end of that letter that there's "a chance that job-specific weapons might have to be delayed to 1.22a or later... I'll be sure to keep you in the know on the coming progress." Fast forward an entire month and a half, two patches, and another letter from the producer, and through all of that not a mention is ever made of a decision for job-exclusive weapons to be delayed past 1.22a.

    Pretty sure that right there says what was coming 1.22a but I might be reading it wrong.
    I believe that this concerned the progress of Hamlet Defense only since it was delayed from Ver 1.21 where it was initially planned for. I looked through the Community Rep posts and found no mention of a delay. Yoshida clearly stated that we would be able to see the Imperial Stronghold being built but could not enter. I can only imagine that the news concerning AF weapons fell through the cracks due to Yoshida's busy travel schedule prior to E2. Happens.

    I guess you could say that him not mentioning the AF weapons in the last letter was a hint at us not getting them in 1.22a, but that would be a very vage way of letting us know.

    PLD DRG and WAR stuff are 1.22b. Weapons and castrum just didnt make the cut

    on a side note, I wonder what the key item "on the properties of beastmen" is for?

    One of the forum reps confirmed that adjustments are already being made with the release of the new Hamlets in order to balance the requirements for advancing the beastmen ranks, so that shouldn't be a problem.
