I love the scions well the older ones anyway. I adore Estinien Urianger and Thancred.

The twins could stay put not a big fan of Alisae or Krile well overrated.

I really miss having Estinien and Thancred around. Based on EC's trailer we should have Estinien and Alphinaud in our team, I just hope it isn't bait.... For example Estinien was drawn into the promotional image for 7.5 but he was nowhere to be seen during the actual patch MSQ...

Estinien was explicitly mentioned as out of contact during the meeting at the Rising Stones, which makes me think he'll pop up in 7.55 when we get the rest of the patch. Either he's neck-deep in trouble and it'll lead into the beginning of Evercold, or he'll show up late with no idea what's going on so someone has an excuse for recap exposition.

In the last, the dev team noted player-wide dissatisfaction with how the Scions were shoehorned into the plot. It was originally done because they didn't want to upset players who were fans of say Alisae but she didn't appear in the expansion. After the backlash, they floated the idea of shelving some cast members so the game's plot wouldn't suffer the foced inclusion.

With that in mind, who do you want to be your traveling companions for Evercold? Let's go with your top four.

My personal line up likely won't happen. Of the main Scions, I want Urianger and Estinien. Urianger in particular is one of my favorite characters in the game and I found the Estinien drop kick hilarious in the trailer.

My second two are less likely: Feo Ul and Erenville. We likely won't see Erenville for a while, if ever again. But I love his voice and I think DT didn't treat him well at the end so I want to give him some more time. And Feo Ul fights Uriamger for my favorite character. They are delightful! Here we are, about to go on a journey to a shard unseen and she refuses to be left behind again by her heartless sapling.

I dont want them to get rid of Scions, I want them to give them more reasons to interact and JOIN US!!
I love all of the Scions for various reasons, and I want to see more of them. Not less! That's why Shadowbringers was so PEAK for me atleast.
It fleshed out their characters, explored their motivations and gave us reasons to care about them.

It is also why I wish they'd show off more of the lesser known/seen Scions too. Hoary, Coultenet, Aenor, Ephemie, Riol, etc.
I'd also like to have some moments where we check in on Arenvald, etc. And for the love of god, Tataru needs some time to shine again T-T

Its those interactions and bonding moments that make the story so awesome for me. (Also would love to see some very hidden and forgotten characters get some new identities. Remember Deks and Sinis, the bodyguards for Alisaie when she arrived in Eorzea... What are they up to now that Bahamut's gone?).

Granted all of these interactions dont need to be in the form of MSQ. I'd love some side-story content! Like what do the other Scions do when we're out saving the universe and stuff. Would love to check in on em and get their points of view.
Heck, Tataru even got the Scions their own freaking Airship and we've seen it once! How did that come about and dammit Let me ride it! :O

Love the scions, but I only want them included if they make sense narratively. There is no point in bringing the whole party along when 80% of them have no impact, see DT. If anything I'm much more in favor of having a complete new cast of characters join us on the 8.0 journey.
Don't get the hype for the B-rank scions either, I know it's a meme at this point, but I can't take anyone serious screaming for hoary boulder. I'd love to take that man on a sidequest though, but not msq. I need characters who can have a proper emotional impact on me and the B-scions will not cut it, unfortunately. Neither will characters like Arenvald or Gaia, I'm afraid.

Scions I would love to travel with in a compact party, aka my comfort team:
- Alphinaud (thats my goat)
- Estinien (thats my bro)
- Krile (thats my girl)

And another set for team nerd who I also adore:
- Urianger
- Yshtola
- Graha

While I definitely do feel that we have a bunch of side characters they could and should pull from (including Fordola, Arenvald and Gaia IMO), I completely agree that the second string Scions do absolutely nothing for me. I don't even remember their names most of the time until they show up and people act like I should know them.

Hoary Boulder and Coultenet have a modicum of development, and you can notice Hoary is the only B-teamer that has ever been voiced, as well as them sharing a Triple Triad card, all other B-team Scions range from gag characters to one-note characters.

Arenvald might be an issue though, if you would remember, he uh... suffered a sudden weight loss during post-Shadowbringers, if you catch my drift. Though I would not be opposed to him gaining a Magitek or Electrope prosthetic, surely the technology of the setting is advanced enough at this point that a prosthetic as responsive as a real limb isn't far-fetched?
