Good thing that it's so fun to play then. The enjoyment is it's own reward, everything else is extra.

I don’t think the rewards for this specific difficulty are complete trash. In fact, they seem to be the best for repeatability among the 3.
The rolling for the stacks of coins at the end is weird though… I think the vast majority would prefer if it was evenly distributed but this just adds unnecessary friction, such as having to do the left tor right rule that a lot of people in NA don’t even know how to do. Seems like it was only designed for Jp in mind where those loot rules are common.
I haven’t done it in duty finder either, where you have even less control. I would be pissed if I saw one person win every single roll.

I had fun with it. Cleared it with someone who'd done it several times and provided call outs. Of the three bosses we did, one came across as a mini-EX, nothing terrible at all, just needed to get the timing right, one I had trouble making heads or tails of but was very easy for someone to call out/dorito (I'm sure I can learn it), and the last had some nonsense that I completely understood but had some trouble solving the matter fast enough. But we got through it.
So, yeah, a gauntlet of mini-Extremes. Nice difficulty.
The regular Variant Dungeon versions are just terrible damage sponges, the Advanced versions are significantly better fights.

Took a break from the game because the relic step was so godawful boring. I was going to skip this patch too but I heard you could get exquisite weapons in a fight you don't have to do homework for. And now I can get all my paste without spamming sastasha roulette or any such nonsense. The patch is a big win in my book. The fights themselves are just ok but this is much more in line with the type of activity I'd like to do for relics. Reminds me of doing delubrum.

without fun jobs none of the content is fun!
jobs should have their full rotations on lvl 60 or 70! for a better low lvl experience.
for satisfying glam builduing we need 5 basic glamplates + 2 more for each class / job
pls give us a proper glam collection like every other mmo has.
pls upgrade the gear from normal raid and also alliance-raid by 10 ilvl each.
pls add old glowy ex trial weapons for new jobs!
and for gods sake pls give as the ability to preview any hairstyle on our own character!

Having done this a lot now, I'd like to say that it's achieved the feat of being midcore content.
My first time, I did it blind. I died lots of times and got resurrected lots. Most of the bosses were 1-shots, while others were 2-shots.
Over time I've got a lot better at it and then helped carry others through it. Which is exactly how I'd expect MMO content to actually work.
Even when you know the fight you will die sometimes. Forget things. Lose concentration. Kill another player. Something there's no prospect of in a lot of content where the attack won't even kill you, nor impact anyone else. It's a lot more satisfying because of that.
If you can do normal dungeon mechanics without getting hit, you can certainly do this, even if you die a lot the first times.
