I have 1 problem with FF14 races.

To be honest, they could re-use the body/skeleton/structures from any of the races to make a new race and just overlay whatever type of "skin/fur" they need on that, really they only need to make new heads (and maybe tails depending) to be able to add a new race. I'd find that totally acceptable.
And didnt they actually tweak the "bone structures" of each race when they did the graphic overhaul? I swear I saw a section in the liveletters or keynote during the lead up to Dawntrail...

EDIT: I guess it was this I remember them talking about. (2023 London Fan Fest Developer Panel) They incorporate partial automation and morphing of gear to fit other races. If they reused "body" assets, they wouldnt need to do much racial scaling and could focus primarily on new "racial" heads.

SE knew if they added a new Lupin race to CC they would become too powerful and overtake the Hroth, Roes, and Highlander existing races so it was not meant to be for us. Also, they wouldn't have claws or paws for feet either since they need to be compatible with current gloves and shoes, so it'd be a disappointment along with never wearing hats again because of the unique head shape...

If they ever add more playable races the last thing they should do is add yet another "human with ______ ears" race. It should be very distinctly non-human, whether that means another beast race or a robot race or whatever.

As someone who plays generic human with cat ears, Yes please add more non hominoid races PLEASE. This game needs more Varity, Hrothgar being the only non human race really just feels lame.

The only new race I'd care about getting would be Gria, they are the closest to perfection as far as Final Fantasy races go for me, after that, I don't care, and I'd support almost anything just because it'd make someone else happy.

That sent shivers down my spine. If the fashion accessories are anything to go by I would rather not have stiff cardboard wings permanently stuck to someone's back.
