Please add various body shapes and skin options in character creation

I'm in full support for more options to make characters more unique, this is a big company they can indeed expand this sort of stuff, all within reason and without tanking the performance. (there won't ever be fully neon green lalas)

For instance my friend has a fem au'ra that he'd like to be more girthy to fit her brawler nature and I have both character's who'd be nice to make more narrow and more curvy, like my main miqo'te who is meant to be a mature and world weary woman pushing past her thirties, yet the body type I'm stuck with just reads more teen to me. I also would love for better and more options for freckles/scars/tattoos that isn't restricted to just the face.

And this is without even mentioning small race specific changes they can do like decoupling au'ra faces from their horns, which alone would drastically increase creativity and diversity in this game.

Sincerely disagree here. Most players use maxed out or larger busts on their female characters and because the devs made the bodies with pretty average human proportions, they never look odd or bad at 0 or 100 on the slider. I make the request for buttocks, waist, and thigh sliders under the pretense it will be exactly the same type of reeled in, realistic proportions.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that point. I think max boob slider looks ridiculous, like two over-inflated balloons taped to someone's chest. I can only assume sliders for other areas of the body would look equally awful. If they were kept subtle that could work in theory, but we all know that wouldn't appease the people asking for them.

I think the extremophiles seen in modding circles becoming standard due to the few designers behind the mod skeletons have poisoned the well when like, giving us to option to add (or even remove) a few inches of our WoL's butt wouldn't break immersion but would still be a big upgrade to give us more personalized characters.

I'm all for more personalization but I would be shocked if the average non-modbeast/pornbrained player even cares what their character's butt looks like. Dev time and resources aren't unlimited and if they're doing a character creator overhaul there are about a million other things that would be more beneficial additions to it in my opinion. To each their own though, obviously people are free to request whatever they want on here.

There's a very sizeable portion of the player-base without access to any mods that would love to have more options on their WoL. I'm one of them. More ways to personalize my WoL to be what she's always been in her lore would be fantastic. I'm pretty sure the options they'll add won't allow me to make her chubby, but I'd love if I could. 'cause she's not as thin as the game forces everyone to be.

I'll be honest you guys are letting those "mod beasts" live in your minds, they exist and will keep existing regardless on if this is added or not, so why deny vanilla players more creative freedom and access to making their WOL's unique just because of the 0.1% chance the devs will make the CC able to recreate monstrosities?

They will make any adjustments to the CC stay in line with the game's aesthetic, so you won't see wasp waisted make up disasters with busts and buttocks larger than comets, you won't see fully glow in the dark neon lalafells with giant heads, you won't see roided up gym bros with more tattoo than skin, etc. etc...

You will see more variety, you will see more unique looks, you will see a tiny percent less cat girl clones and the mod beasts will be beasting their mods where you can't see them, as usual. OP even states they don't want/aren't asking for anything extreme, so i just don't get why you feel the need to deny everyone else because of a group you can't even see, who only makes up a fraction of the player base.

So yeah, still in full support of things like this making it into a CC update.

Why does this need a long debate?

The answer to more customization options is always a Yes.

If you don't need it, then you don't have to use it. But more customization options in a role-playing game is always a yes.

Based on some of the gear they've added in the last expansion or two, I wouldn't be so sure about that. (I'm all for more customization of course, as long as it does fit)

Wait, I take that back now, they should let everyone go nuts in the CC and let everyone use the color wheel for every option from skin, eye color, eyebrows, hair, ear/tails, fur stripes, face paints, hair highlights because it would be extremely funny along with unlocked sliders for each face, height, and body type.

I want to see the height of FFXIV creativity just AFK in LL when I login that day and check everyone's new appearance out in the future.

It is not very much on a middie sadly and I would like just a little bit more nothing weird. I want a larger shape for thighs and bottom and not to look like a kid. I hate all the out of proportion looks I have seen and think they look terrible so something that is within reason just to add some shape would be nice.

I play on console and never even when on PC would use any kind of mod. I like the Midlander females and would play a Highlander but they can look a bit too masculine for my taste.
