Lol, I knew you would say something like this.. only a matter of time :P. The only reason I'm NOT doing Hamlet Defense is that I'm getting my GC equipment to be prepared for things like Garuda and Hamlet Defense.I didn't read through the whole thread, but I'm going to put down what I said in my thread
"Yep 8 people, soo soon you will have to shout in uldah... AGAIN. You also need DOL/H. Yep level 45+. You get anima and some weapons, really silly though. The silly part is anima and random drops, like wtf get a point system in.
Well, hamlet was a fail in my opinion."
Lets not forget it's instanced, meaning you HAVE to have people, you can't just go in and do it with 1 - ? players whenever you like. They really dropped the ball on it I do say.
I personally hoped for something that would be solo possible, but much better with a group. Before someone jumps in citing behest, this isn't the same as behest so don't try that. If no one shows up to the spot at least you can still do behest. I'm just talking battle phase here.

Thank you Gramul. I really do need to take a deep breath about this because I was so hopeful about it.Okay Lurex.
Relax and breathe for a minute.
Collect your thoughts on why you think Hamlet was poorly handled and what they could have done to make it better. You're entitled to your opinion, but I ask that you elaborate on your position so I have a better understanding of it.
I think that Hamlet defense was poorly handled for a number of reasons. First off, I crafted many supplies, be it .. not as many to get into the top 20, but I spent alot of time doing it. What did I get for my time? Anima. Thats it, oh and about 25 firecrackers. At this point, Hamlet Defense, gives me NO OTHER REASON to do it, except for when I am lacking Anima.
Also, when I read the posts of those poor people that spent all that time to actually get into the top 20, and get NOTHING or next to nothing, for their time/effort, what kind of inspiration is that for me to continue with this? Why shouldn't I be angry/upset? At this point, I see Hamlet Defense, as nothing more than an outlet for me to obtain Anima.
But, do you know what is the deepest and darkest fear of all? ... It is that I am so hopeful for 2.0, AND... when I experience content, such as this, I am very concerned about what I'm even hopeful for.

Hamlet issues are simple and it comes down to the time vs reward system. It takes 50hrs to ready a Hamlet all for a 25hr potential reward phase.
The second issue is there are most likely 2 different lot pools, 1 that everyone gets and another that only the top 20 have a chance of getting. In terms of potential rewards I'd say the fights and those not in top 20 have a chance at 3 rewards while those in the top 20 have a chance at those 3 items, the DoL hat and the tradeable secondary tools for DoH/L.
The other "reward" is earning anima but with how silly they make it it just isn't worth it after a run or two since by then even at 0 anima you'll most likely be back up to 2/3 of your capped anima, in that case it prolly would work to simply add a seal reward to this so people are more enticed to do the event.
Hamlet will suffer a lot of downtime because the only time it will be popular is during the weekend so people can make the most out of it, but in an instance just as now where it will end at 8am, the next battle won't start til Monday 10am. and end on Tuesday at 11am. Who wants to prepare for a Hamlet in which the time frame just doesn't work for the casual player.
As it stands now for this week the current phase is
Monday 10am-Tuesday 11am. Thursday 1pm-Friday 2pm. Sunday 4pm-Monday5pm.
Wednesday 7pm-Thursday8pm. Saturday 10pm-Sunday 11pm.
So based on the above the most efficient day for this Hamlet won't be til the 19th if my numbers aren't mistaken.
Since only the top 20 get a perk for helping the amount of people willing to take the time to build up forces will dwindle down until they change it to where a certain threshold grants the secondary loot chance.
Hopefully we'll get some news from the devs this Monday when they're back in the office but for now we just have to be patient with it, at least we can be glad in knowing that for those who had been able to do it had no glitches to deal with that may have caused them to lose out on the 25hr phase.

I sure hope so, I really need some hope here.Hamlet issues are simple and it comes down to the time vs reward system. It takes 50hrs to ready a Hamlet all for a 25hr potential reward phase.

What's this? Someone posting feedback without crying about entitlement or how SE has failed the world?Hamlet issues are simple and it comes down to the time vs reward system. It takes 50hrs to ready a Hamlet all for a 25hr potential reward phase.

Maybe the player base isn't as bad as I thought it was..
Nobody's doing Hamlet because they have to manaburn the crap out of Garuda before it gets fixed.

inb4 outrage when non doh/dol players find out hamlet defense is now their only way to regenerate anima.

I was looking forward to hamlet then on release I read in the patch notes that it was an instance for 8 people and that turned it off right there. The impression that I got was it was pretty much gonna be a besieged that the servers could handle.Hamlet was a big let down for me but that doesnt mean it was for others. But if they chose this route cause of how the game is coded there is not much they can do. If I remember right there will be a defense type content where you defend Isgard from dragons? If this is true please for the love of god make this open world. Im all for instance raid and open world content find some common ground and split it right down the middle.
