Currently, XIV is operating on a limited budget and adding something new or different is going to cost us somethingWhere did I say that I wanted to take away from current content we get? I agree that those races need more effort put into their clothes! Y'all deserve better, no argument there.
But I need everyone to understand no extra models would need to be made from what they already make to implement this.
I know this, because people who use 3rd party plugins have been doing that for a while now. They have an entire thing with scaling bones to get differing body shapes without changing the models themselves. The team says they look at what 3rd party plugins do to get a read on what is wanted in the game, so I'm saying "hey this one that we all know exists? It is, in fact, wanted also by people who are keeping to TOS."
This game can only be improved by leaving something else by the wayside, it's just how it is with the budget/manpower they have
It would be great to have something like what you proposed, but I'm not sure if a solution like that is realistic considering how afraid of clipping the devs are

I agree we need more better body shapes and I have always been quite honest and vocal about it not being anything dodgy but some shape as a woman would be lovely.
I am a female who plays a female and usually it is a Midlander. I love how the 2 b bottoms can alter my legs and bottom to look more mature and in line with myself and not a 14 year old girl. I feel the CC needs this and I know a lot who also want this. Nothing mad just maybe some sliders? or even more 2 b type gear but cover the arse cheeks lol
Honestly if we could just have a butt/thigh slider and some better bust and muscle proportions, that would be a incredible upgrade to everyone.
It's 2025 and I still don't understand why Lalafell have a bust slider, especially one that's flat at 0 to bug bite 100. There are so many weird choices in the creator.
they need to let Lalafells be green
biggest restriction is probably the limit each character can have to ensure fast and smooth loading.
Most games with tons of sliders struggle loading other players so they don't load them when you entered the zone/field like xiv does but instead loads when you get close to them.
So you won't see other players untill you wait couple seconds around them and they appear from nowhere or you see the place holder default character till everything is loaded.
I personally really like how the game loads ppl fairly smoothly and doesn't show "loading" on every characters around me in limsa.
Some form of skin update is confirmed to be something they're working on according to various fan translations I've seen from this Q&A Yoshi Gave a few days ago http://blog.livedoor.jp/umadori0726/.../62898583.html (There's a few floating around on reddit, a couple youtube videos, etc). He's been mentioning character creation overhaul related things lately and I believe mentioned we'll see it at one of the fan-fests. (I'm hoping the NA one)
I support some new scalers.Honestly if we could just have a butt/thigh slider and some better bust and muscle proportions, that would be a incredible upgrade to everyone.

However, the reason we can't have a universal increase bust/butt/thigh because the way the gear works that it's like lego blocks of each armor, like we have a separate block for the torso, legs, and shoes. It would be fine for the 2B leggings since would be replacing the butt and leg armor, but they would need to manually adjust it for each and every single gear piece even if they only want to do Midlander bodies, which most women have shared them.
So this is why if you stand outside in your small clothes it reflects the original CC bust slider size but once you put on a top like the BRD AF top, then the Wol's entire torso is being replaced hence it becomes much larger bust for no reason which will also vary depending on the actual outfit worn for women.
Technically they could do this the same way they did it with the breast slider. Specifically they would need to add two new bones to the skeleton, one for each butt cheek, then skin the butt part of every single variation of every single leg piece in the game to be influenced by said bone, then redo every single leg animation so that the leg motion looks right, then they would make it so that the slider scales said butt bone.I support some new scalers.

It's doable but would be such an obscene amount of work that I have no idea if it will ever be done. If they ever redo the body model like they did for the faces in dawntrail then that would be the time to do it. It would be easier per piece then the faces and a lot easier to make it look right, but there are hundreds of pieces so it honestly might take even longer then the faces did.
It might ironically be easier for them to just make differently scaled models of everything with like, 3 different butt sizes, then use shapekeys or something, like they already do with character jaw size, then just use the model that matches the player's chosen butt size.
