I think the main issue here is you don't understand OP's definition of "big rework". Maybe Yoshi-P could help you with that.
This is where you are not understanding that big rework is indefinable and, to my knowledge, never promised to you. What was promised is refining the identity of each job to help with the homogenization issue. What you think is irrelevant to me and Yoshi P as well.
This is basically like saying, "Yoshi P just confirmed Yshtola wont die in 8.0". Literally no one told us that was going to happen. So your point is you are telling me you are disappointed, not that Yoshi P confirmed anything.
While I understand your disappointment it does not make sense, respectfully. Jobs do not have to be entirely redone to be effectively reworked. His statements do not confirm the preservation of two minute meta. It doesn't confirm anything in great specifity except that the overall experience will still be familiar, which makes sense given some people have gotten very carried away.

awful if true, awful
I find it frustrating that he's beating around the bush just to not to kill the sales and the hype for fanfests.
He's doing this tactic since years and the "mysterious" tidbits harm his name more than building hype.
player choice went out the window a long long time ago. the kits are continuously going to be down. Shoot. They did away with hard mode because people cried they were to difficult. they nerfed Orbonne because people didn't like doing mechanics. There won't be a specialization tree because once one specialization becomes meta the rest becomes moot. If anything, i see them bringing back stuff possibly from 5.0 related to jobs to bring some job identity back and still keep it within the 2 min meta.
"Big rework" is definitely definable. It's just a relative concept, and I think you are mistaking the two.
There's an entire context behind that promise, with Yoshi-P expressing regrets over the 2-minute meta and simplified jobs in the same interview. All of this opens room for different interpretations. Of course the thread represents an opinion. What is job identity? Yoshi-P speaks in riddles and apparently we don't even know the meaning of the word "cost". It seems that native Japanese speakers didn't understand that as well. To many, Yoshi-P did promise major job overhaul. It's very easy to pick the wrong words and put the blame on the community, or try to sneak and avoid past promises.
What he means is a bit more nebulous when you're not cherry picking parts.
Of note are these sections:But "when it comes to using the jobs in battle content and bringing out more of that uniqueness of each job, we are working on a big update." Before Dawntrail even launched, Yoshi-P had teased that he wanted to counteract 'class homogenization' in an overhaul that was planned for 8.0.
As for what that will look like, he explains that "People might think of it as an expansion of the system that we have in the game. So the players who already like the way things are can feel at ease that nothing is going to change for their experience. But we are trying to do something new on top of what we already have."
Yoshida says he's unable to share more on this at this point in time, and I doubt we'll get much news on the matter until at least Fanfest 2026, but he reemphasizes: "In terms of the individuality of each job and also showcasing the player character to the fullest in terms of how they are the hero of the game, we want to continue placing importance on both of these aspects moving forward." If you were among those frustrated by our more back-bench role in Dawntrail's MSQ, that'll likely come as welcome news.
But "when it comes to using the jobs in battle content and bringing out more of that uniqueness of each job, we are working on a big update."Obviously it would be impossible to "bring out more of the uniqueness of each job" while also keeping everything exactly the same as now, so what does he mean?"In terms of the individuality of each job and also showcasing the player character to the fullest in terms of how they are the hero of the game, we want to continue placing importance on both of these aspects moving forward."
He could simply mean that the combat system isn't going to suddenly turn into Age of Conan or anything radically different and it's just the jobs themselves that are getting spruced up.
Or he could mean that the jobs aren't going to change much from how they are now and they're layering something like a WoW talent system on top of it. Personally I despise WoW talents so something like that or specs would be the worst case scenario IMO.
In any case, as a huge critic of the current job design this article is a tad concerning but I think it's too vague to really get worked up over. We'll know in a few months what the plan is and whether all is lost.
So we're just going to get level 110 then.
I can't wait for Enhanced Shadowstride!
