Ya know, im not gonna say OP is wrong because maybe they just HATE RNG. Personally I think RNG is fine, grinding is fine, currencies are fine, every content type is fine if used in moderation, rewards are fulfilling, and the gameplay is fun. This team neither uses moderation, give proper reward incentives, nor has a fun gameplay loop anymore. Small amounts of content that each player type wants to do, that they expect to be held up by content we have played for years all the way back to ARR (except even some of the ARR content is more streamlined and simplified now). It's poor game design with cost as the first factor of the design. Yoshi P. said it himself earlier this year when asked about dungeon design. His response was those things need to stay the same because they can perfectly calculate the cost and they have run the numbers and its just enough to keep people engaged........or it was.
Like idk I can play other games with RNG like diablo, and FFXI and it's totally fine, but if the RNG consists of "reward or nothing" for long enough then the design is flawed. RNG needs to be coupled with some kind of value and progression, and rewards are another thing this game is horrible with. So idk. I know this patch isn't getting me to resub any time soon. And honestly I don't see myself even thinking about resubbing until .5, but even then with the way things are being staggered out it may be .55, or like a month before the expansion drops who knows. I guess telling people to go play other games and ignoring feedback when times were good wasn't the best idea.
Isn't a first time grind like last time? then it's just tomes?

Just because the person didn't literally say the words "I'm tired" or "I'm burned out" doesn't mean it isn't excessively obvious to a 3rd party listening to them that that's exactly what's happening here.Gotta love how people are still using this phrase to cover up that the game is lacking content and in a bad state. It's always same excuse: "bro you are just burnt out, go play something else". This isn't the case with the player. The PLAYER NEVER said that they are tired or burned, they said that they feel that yawntrail isn't going anywhere good as they have hoped for. Clearly they want a better game but devs love to make excuse with "just play something else".
Stop telling yourself that excuse its pretty tiresome.

I think it's a very personal thing also, in the case of myself I enjoyed Eureka *a lot* but that was during a time where I *had* the time to spend 24hrs in Eureka. I used to get upset that I can't do relics or things the same way I would back then, because it's a mindset of "Falling Behind" but since then I've made peace with it, it's cool, it doesn't matter anyway if I don't have fun. In the end, I ended up doing fates for an hour, got 600 gemstones and sold an item for 2.4mil. Sure I won't have the relic the same time as everyone else, but who cares really. And of course you can be unhappy and totally not vibing with what they're doing and that's okay. I too don't enjoy the 1500 tomestones thing. So I just do the grind slower, whenever, by chance, per chance when it happens it happens.

The relic only becomes relevant in terms of power during the last patch of an expansion and by that point the previous steps will most likely have already received nerfs, at least that was the case for all relics besides Endwalker (how would you even nerf mindless tomestone grinding?).
The time it takes doesn't bother me, it's so long until 7.4 that even if you want the step done before the (potential) next update you can leasurely do a few roulettes a week and probably still finish in time.
The fact that it is somehow more restrictive than the light grind in Heavensward is what I find more questionable.

It took me like 6 out of the 7 years I've been playing to get this mindset though. But now I don't fuss over it so much. It's there if I want to do it, which I do actually do - more specifically the crafting relics (not current ones, but older ones), purely for the sake of completion. And I do this only when I "feel" like it. Cause ultimately, if you're not having a fun time, why are you even playing? It's a question I've had to ask myself on a few occasions actually just to reset myself and why I play. This, because it ultimately doesn't matter.

The reverse is just as valid as your take. This is not an airport to announce your departure or to say that you no longer find things appealing to your playstyle. While feedback itself is valuable, most "feedback" on these forums is simply rants of various degrees.
Maybe SE should just make one of the upgrades like the Original ARR relic grind, where people would be hard stuck on some steps because some items would only drop on very specific Fates that only appear at specific hours every several days or once/ week. What fun it used to be to look away for a moment to just find some dude finished a fate you also needed.

There is literally nowhere else official for a departing player to provide reasons for feedback. When you unsub there is no exit interview, there is no exit survey to fill out to let them know why you left. People who have paid for this game have every right to make exit statements on the official forums because they have not been provided any other means to express their concerns.
