Imagine a world, perhaps four or five years hence, when SE realizes they really need to upgrade the engine, hamsters, and duct tape that powers FF14. And they discover they can't because it'd break a Switch 2.

Yes please, hamstring 14 even more by adding more consoles
Honestly lmao, the game is literally already in maintenance mode as it is and people want them to take even more resources off from FF14 (there's already barely any) and for them to focus on another console port instead
We'll always have the memory of PS3 and now PS4 to sustain us when that time comes, too.
No. People don't play as well on handhelds. Especially chat engagement which is impossible to read.
Only if switch console client players are excluded from anything from Ex's upward.
In fact I'd prefer they were kept in solo trust support.
I made sure not to join anything more than a dungeon or trial roul even on steam deck. In fact I mostly used to craft. (That is until I found out convoluted crafting becomes without recipe solvers and gave up.)
Just buy the mobile version. I hear they still develop that version.
Welp Yoshi P is having positive talks with Nintendo and alot of replys online already say theyll play or buy for ff14 so, its gonna be a year or two but lock it in. ff14 on Switch 2 is looking like a reality
It'd be real funny if it was the mobile version.
That would be some true monkey paw *** **** right there, LMAO! But it's plainly evident that they're discussing the retail version.
When it comes to existing Final Fantasy 14 players, if hypothetically a Switch 2 version was released, they would have the chance, for example, going through the main story – they could play that on the PC and do raiding on the PCBut when it comes to other types of content, they could sit back, relax on the sofa with the Switch 2 in hand, and they could do their gatherer and crafter content, and I’m super excited about that sort of possibility for our players. When it comes to players who haven’t played Final Fantasy 14 before, the younger generation of players, if they started playing Final Fantasy 14 on Switch 2, of course being an MMO, it might be a new genre for them, and I would be super excited to get these new players into this genre and enjoying the game as well.Source: https://www.videogameschronicle.com/...ntasy-14-port/So to this end, we have been discussing with Nintendo, and the discussions have been positive, so I do hope that players will look forward to hopefully good news in the future.
Given everything going on at SE and with the game right now, plus Kiryu's desire to multiplatform everything, plus the people's resounding positive response regarding the idea. It's easy to see which way the wind is blowing. It's also easy to see that Yoshi-P's conversation was wholly intended to gas-up the Switch 2 version that's currently in the works right now, and it did just that.

Gotta love all the hateful comments from people towards console players when there are so many players who play on potato PCs or laptops as well. Get over yourselves. This is an old, dying game that needs new subscribers. Y'all remember the fiasco when 14 first came out? When the majority of people couldn't get it to run properly because they didn't have $1000+ PCs lol. If you get rid of console and potato PC players, the game will die on the spot.
Sure. You can all be the first to get banned by Nintendo for playing Non-Nintendo IP's.
I mean honestly.... how DARE you.
(This is meant to be satirical)
