Then wear a suit.

It changes over time and the OP is stating about our time and the clothes we associate with what genders in our time, not the past, not the future, our time now.oof you're not too bright. i'll spell it out.
"dresses, robes, literally anything of cloth (depending how reductive the person's argument is) are often a go to example of "feminine clothing" despite the fact that historically, clothing disproportinately associated with a gender in one time period, has been worn by other genders in another time period. It's almost as if, clothing isn't gendered to begin with.
Theres plenty of „masculine” looking sets tho
Only ones which are particularly „feminine” looking that come to mind are dancer and Prishe sets from the Alliance raid.
FFXIV gives you a really good freedom of dressing up your character either masculine or feminine unlike some other MMOs which force you into some styles by default.
I say protest, op, wear a Tonberry outfit. Be different. Be the snowflake you always were meant to become!
This is so weirdly phrased, who is forcing you to wear feminine looking clothing? Do you think you'll get your account deleted if you don't wear a flowery skirt?
I would say its a valid point that often caster gear is a frilly dress which could be seen as more feminine leaning. I suspect the devs design a gear with a specific look in mind and sometimes that leans more towards masculine or femine.
Seems to me, Caster and healers are certainly more in the "create a dress" camp and probably suffers more for this issue.
I cant say for certain though, if thats just me being tired of the "caster" look XIV tends to go for, rather than it being a specific more or less feminine issue.
Either way, varienty is key and they certainly do need to branch out from the caster = sack shaped / dress.
There are so many ways they could design caster gear that would fit both genders and not be just another dress.
That said, most of the gear i use is from HSW - SB era, so maybe i just dont like the new design Aesthetics.
All clothes are male clothes if you're not a coward.
