My understanding is that the MogStation team more or less operates independently and its money stays within CS3 with Yoshida deciding how the pie is split, but I could very easily be wrong or their statements on it could be lies/outdated/mistranslated.This is what bothers me the most. It's not necessarily even the price itself but how it looks to release these new mogstation items, at these prices, right after telling us in a liveletter that they had budget issues.
Now, I don't think the actual dev team had anything to do with this, as far as I know they are not responsible for the mogstation and have little if any control over how it is run.
But what this shows is concerningly poor communication between different departments which is probably not exclusive to XIV's store.
This is mostly made for whales and those who don't have self-control. Specially the ones that buy every single item the store has to offer so this will be like a fomo thing for them or: "I need this for my full collection". People already buy and novice chat is already full of mentors who speak about buying it and "omg it looks good!". Meanwhile those same mentors are afk-ing the whole time and never helping sprouts who beg for unsync content because they cannot find parties for hours. Then come into a conversation that will last more than the whole trial / dungeon would. Because it's easier to throw pointless arguments with sprouts and make them quit. Yep shame on you.
Regardless of that, first meaning when people buy this hot garbage is that they don't care about the quality of the game and they will take even pile of crap if it was served to them for 20 bucks. These are the main people that make this game work like this. We all want a better quality and devs to treat us better, but obviously some of them just don't care and enjoy being a fool.
Devs know this will sell for good so it's a quick buck.
I will have it as well don't worry... with glamourer which is free.
That was also my last info on how it functioned. But my point still stands, if those are two separate departments they have terrible communication between departments, because this is simply not good optics.
Just a simple Question: Who asked for this Glamour? We asked for Glamour like Gaius, Zenos, Emet Selch or Venats Hair or for Nophica's Glamour + Hair.... even a Zenos Minion and Zenos Portrait .... but nay we get a Glamour that exsists already in Game in a tiny different Version. Same Trousers, same Shoes, same Shirt since a while now ( since Endwalker). Just some small changes here or there but still the same. No Dress, no Skirt. All made for Men with the lazy exuse called Unisex.
Someone call the Forum Police! Because I wrote passive aggressively that DT looks not good. Oh how right I was!
Every purchased item should be account-wide. The only exception should be consumables such as dyes, fantasia, and jumps.
Finally looked at it. And it seems like both fits are like a mal female version. Yeah the tops are slightly different but the pants and shoes are different styles. I'm not a fan of the way the belt, around the waist, is rigged for male characters. If you look at the roe in the ad you'll see what I mean. I expect the belts to be form fitting and not floating. A flaw in design imo.
It seems like an insult to the sub money we spend, plus we have to buy every expansion.
I've seen f2p games more generous than this.
Why do we even have a cash shop to begin with?
Why not make "old event items" be available through seasonal events.
Why not implement these glams into the game as a reward for achivements.
But yet here we are still getting recolors of gear from 4 expansions ago,
it's not hard to go into the photoshop file and change the color with a multiply layer.
Takes literally seconds for a single texture.
