    Machinest Further Nerfed PvE?

I haven't explored MCH enough at lvl 100 to understand its position along the rest of the Ranged DPS, but can someone explain to me why its potency across numerous spells was further lowered?

How much was it pulling ahead of the other Ranged Jobs to warrant it? That's ultimately what I wish to know.

Those were buffs, the falloff was reduced which is a net gain on AOE

I don't doubt what you say, but with the way I'm reading these patch notes, it makes it seem like it reduced its lethality overall "from the first target".
Can you elaborate more in-depth? I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, evidently.

It now has less damage reduction against additional targets.

Less reduction = less less = more. More damage.

This, it is a double negative, which sounds confusing, but makes sense.

It was another AoE buff, like they did in 7.2 to various other jobs.

They reduced the penalty to damage on targets after the first one. It's a buff.

Enjoy your AoE weaponskills being only worth over 8+ targets now.

Their almost militant refusal to buff Auto Crossbow is really the baffling part. They either don't understand how Machinist works (which is honestly likely) or they want you to throw that thing off your hotbars.

So basically, let's take the tooltip for Chainsaw : "Delivers an attack to all enemies in a straight line before you with a potency of 600 for the first enemy, and 35% less for all remaining enemies."

Before 7.25 it was 50%, which means that when you used Chainsaw on a group of mobs, the first enemy took 600 potency worth of damage, and all others took 300 potency (50% less, so 600 / 2 = 300, 600 - 300 = 300)
Now that it is 35%, the first enemy still takes 600 potency worth of damage, but now all remaining enemies take 390 potency (35% of 600 is 210, so 600 - 210 = 390)

So it's basically a 90 potency gain on all enemies in the AoE, but no change to single target damage. Hope this was clear enough !
