Im on shiva, before the split and all it was not that dead, at least some ppl were always around... I cant help. I still recall, i had my house in Uldah first, my apartment in limsa and later shiro... it was always somewhat busy.

Fully modifiable housing system from Wildstar? Community: "Nah, we're fine with trash"
Reduce button bloat from pressing 1-2-3 to just 1? Community: "Nah, we like bloat"
Yoshi P: "High end graphics and turnbased doesnt work" Expedition 33: "Highest user-rated game ever which has both"
Square Enix is a dying breed that went fully corporate and forgot that their legacy was innovation and creativity. This MMO ever since Endwalker has been the best example of this, just chasing trends and thinking what is popular.
An MMO or a game should make you feel like you're entering into a lived world with real characters, a real world story. This game makes you feel like you're walking into a supermarket that has a bunch of different themed shops that don't fit well together. So yeah, get used to this kind of slop and lack of QoL. That's what Square Enix wants for you and thats what a lot of this community who are afraid of change are enabling. GG WP

Yeah true, Wildstar was such a great success too!Fully modifiable housing system from Wildstar? Community: "Nah, we're fine with trash"

Oh wait..
"On September 6, 2018, NCSoft announced the immediate closure of Carbine Studios and that they "will begin the process of winding WildStar down".[5] A shut-down date was later set for November 28, 2018.[6]"

You realized wards are instances right? lol your comment makes no sense, you're saying instance is a garbage system while literally playing a game trying to defend literally instance housing wards your house is an instance within an instance they are literally double instanced.

I'm talking about the feature of their housing, where you could freely place anything, rotate anything, enlarge or make things smaller and housing was instanced. You're making it sound like I said the housing is the whole game? I'm not talking about the game, I'm talking about the innovative feature it had.

Why does everyone talk as if housing including wards isn't instanced lol it already is instancedI'm talking about the feature of their housing, where you could freely place anything, rotate anything, enlarge or make things smaller and housing was instanced. Because they mean different things when they say "instanced", in a literal sense, yes, house wards are already individual instances, but what people want are small instances with modular loading that would lead to an equal amount of houses as there are characters, rather than the current very limited amount.

I'm not a fan of "just give everyone an instanced house," because that's what we got with Islands: how often do people go to other people's islands? And how would you even find an island unless it belongs to a friend?
In the wards people do wander them at times, visit homes. I do: it's fun seeing how people decorate/set up their homes. Plus the ones that are venues like Museums, Aquariums, RPG facilities, gpose facilities, etc. So no, I don't want "neighborhoods" taken away from us, but I would like to see something new offered:
New neighborhood design with plots all the size that currently goes with a large. You buy the plot for a relatively small fee (I'm okay with prices varying a bit depending on plot location).
THEN, you buy a permit for the size house you want to put on the plot: small, med, or large. (You can up or downgrade this later, for a fee.) Can give the neighborhood a varied look by the strips of land between plots, how plots are angled, etc.
Because house interiors are instanced, this wouldn't add anything significant to the load for the neighborhood itself. For the yards, just make it that all of them have same number of items: 40 (or 50 if they give us an increase?) slots available, and the owner has to work out how to fit them into the exterior space depending on the size house they bought. (I will say I find the current caps on number of yard items frustrating, especially when decorating for a holiday.)
I'd also like to see some yard options, where we can pick from a menu of a few seasonal types of yards---say, grass, snow-covered, brown dirt (autumn/haunted), sand? And change these as we choose?
Back to housing: Yoshi keeps hinting they may change to letting us choose the size of the house's *interior* at some future date; I'd like to see that go one step further with the exterior as well, right from the start, in this new ward design.
Not everyone is going to *want* (or can afford) a large or even a medium, but if they do, it would allow them to get the house size they want (or upgrade to it) on their plot in this new neighborhood. That would reduce a LOT of the competition for larges and mediums, and help get more plots occupied, in servers where all that's left are empty small plots.
This wouldn't fix *all* the issues with housing scarcity, but IMO it would help in some ways.
I also think we need more wards on existing worlds: mainly because it's not fun when in order to get the medium or large you've tried for years to get on your current home world instead you're told "Just move your character to this new world we've created that has all these empty wards, and try there!"
Which can mean leaving behind friends and family and FC people on your current world. Given that in some worlds/data centers they can at times be blocked off from people traveling TO them from other worlds/data centers, that's been a problem for folks wanting to go back to do things with friends on their old home world.
"For the world is hollow, and I have touched the sky."

an Instance is an Instance, the only thing that would be loss is their ability to live track gardens and orchestrations, but in reality those can be stored as a SQL entry and next time the instance is loaded it just does a check on how long as passed since the last time the instance was loaded vs how long x garden should take to grow.Because they mean different things when they say "instanced", in a literal sense, yes, house wards are already individual instances, but what people want are small instances with modular loading that would lead to an equal amount of houses as there are characters, rather than the current very limited amount.
This exactly this, I have been playing since 2015 I created my FC on 01/01/2016 and still have not gotten an FC house. I am basically packing up to move to dynamis knowing I am losing a 9 year old FC and over 200 friends some who I have been friends with for over 2500+ 3000+ days because as you know majority of them will just stay on their home server and not bother DC hoping just to say hi and hang out.I also think we need more wards on existing worlds: mainly because it's not fun when in order to get the medium or large you've tried for years to get on your current home world instead you're told "Just move your character to this new world we've created that has all these empty wards, and try there!"
