Yes, I understand that. The point I'm speaking to is that the insistent on shoe-horning irrelevant characters into the game harms the narrative. Hence three bears, magic beans, and so forth. The team that works on glams is separate from the actual main development team, so them working on and releasing glams has no impact on the actual main development of the game. If anything, the glam team is the one that has been consistent unlike the main development team dropping the ball in 7.0 and 7.1.
Quite possible, I'm merely sharing my opinion. I'd also suggest the callbacks were less intrusive when the story was actually compelling.Nostalgia's been slathered into this game since ARR, I don't see how suddenly now it's a problem. Where was this critique when we had Omega raids chock full of FF6 references, many of which were probably lost on people who never played FF6? All the FF4 content from Endwalker, the the FF3 stuff from Crystal Tower, so many characters and/or their names, locations, borrowed lore, there's tons of stuff that's not specifically from FFXIV that has made its home in the game and that's just how it operates. This game has always been a magnet for various cross-promotional content that it's practically part of the game's foundation to constantly nostalgia bomb the player. I saw something earlier where someone was even asking for FFXV content to make its way into the game, lol. FF fans just really love any excuse for more FF in their mmo, whether that's a good thing or not. If you don't like nostalgia/advertisements, you might be playing the wrong game?
I totally think criticism regarding the main story and the increasing recycling/homogenization/repetitiveness of content (which is likely what's actually causing the player count drop) is totally valid, but I honestly think you're aiming at a target that is not the real cause for the population dropoffs.

The game is considered a love letter to the entire Final Fantasy Franchise while still doing it's own thing. It also borrows from other properties, like Tactics Ogre for PotD
Mmm hmm. But love is like a butterfly. At some point you either let it fly away, or hold it captured and watch it slowly die.

Team Prishe! FFXI is my one and only true MMO love. There are lots of glams and hairstyles I would love to see in the game. Hopefully they are a part of the upcoming alliance raid fights. I really wasn't expecting Ark Angels to be the theme for gear on fight 1 so hopefully they choose something a bit more beloved this time.
Coeurl - Astrologian - Wannabe Fisher
i dont see how mediocre story telling and bad management desicions are connected to someone wanting hairstyles from a character thats already in the game.
more hairstyles are always nice (especially if they are for everybody)

without fun jobs none of the content is fun
When I started playing, the first race I considered was elezen, because I wanted to play an elf, but I settled for miqo'te because I wanted a shorter character. Imagine how offended I was when some of the first characters I saw in the opening cutscene were clearly members of a second, shorter elf-like race that's unavailable to players for reasons unknown. It took me a comically long time to realize that the twins are just young elezen.
I don't think I would use it, but, yes please! I know Sena Bryer also really wants Prishe's hairstyle as well.
Also let MNK use Nullifying Dropkick!

I love Prishe and FFXI I am unsure I would use it but it would be nice to have more FFXI outfits and glams in the game. I wish we could have Arciela's hair and also Nashmeira they are so pretty.
I wish FFXI would just do a massive overhaul graphically and a easier interface and maybe console play. I left 15 years ago to come and play the closed alpha here but I do pop in FFXI now and then and to me it still is the greatest MMO I ever played.
There are so many outfits and hairstyles they can add I hope we see more in the next part of the XI raids.

No objection to it being added, but I don't understand what Prishe's hat-hairpin-thingie is supposed to be.
