M2N~M4N still had quite a few struggling from the RNG and greeding (and latency) even towards the end of 7.1x, I'd imagine that to continue to be a thing in Cruiserweight normal even after people get used to it between stuff like the frogs and spotlights, cacti, and pillars.

There's still quite a lot of time to spam glare but I do kinda like the direction they're going with that at least.

It seems very common that people will misdiagnose problems because the game has no feedback about how well someone is playing their job, other than stone sea sky (which doesn’t help with healing and mitigation) or third party tools.

I’ve occasionally seen tanks in dungeons who don’t mitigate and then blame the healer. But that’s rare since it seems like dungeon mobs aren’t so hard that either the tank or healer can’t just carry the other person anyway.

Also when less experienced raiders try Extreme or Savage it’s not uncommon for them to not know they should press mitigation, and then this becomes the healers’ problem to deal with. But in a team of beginners they don’t notice that there was no Feint, Reprisal, or Addle on the raidwide. They just notice that the healers and dps died.

Although a funny thing I’ve also seen happen is things being the other way around and people not knowing the healers were the problem. I had a dungeon run where I forgot where my Astro buttons were and the tank though it was their own fault they died to the first pull. I’ve also seen beginner healers in Savage that don’t know about slidecasting, and don’t know they need to try keeping their gcd rolling to do good damage, and then they think they’re doing good damage because they’re eventually not using GCD heals. But they’re missing many many many Glares because of how much time they spend not casting anything at all. And then they blame the DPS players when the party dies to Enrage.

Every single patch, when they come out with new raids, people huff a HUGE amount of copium. In a month healers will be back to feeling that there's nothing to heal. Has been a thing since ShB now, but somehow people still never learn the lesson.

Dang, almost like the community gets better at the mechanics of the current content by engaging with it and there is some kind of gear progression that basically resets with each tier. Who knew?

Such wisdom, much insight. Nothing less to expect from you.

I get the impression M6S adds will remain stressful going forward simply because their damage is not scripted in the way most mechanics are and thus healers can't really anticipate when the tanks are going to be getting wrecked by the incoming damage.

The "optimal" timings for mitigation/CDs for both the tanks and healers there are partly reliant on how much DPS the group is putting out and having to adjust to such isn't really something that's been commonplace throughout the game's life.

Haven't you been playing since at least HW? That was a thing even in casual content in ARR and HW.

I enjoyed having manashift as a BLM (giving your mp to another party member for caster dps only I think?) I really like how the game in previous iterations did rely on cooperation between the party members. Instead they stripped a lot of those roles identity in exchange for some other things I don't think make up for it.

I didn't touch endgame content until SB and wasn't healing until EW though I do know there was considerably more dynamic elements in encounters to contend with pre-ShB which has contributed towards healing feeling dull when you can just pop your mits and CDs at the exact same times and everyone will live assuming the mechanic is done correctly.

In the case of 6S it just feels a bit awkward how everyone suddenly has to be on the same page to a degree that isn't mandated in the fights following it.

That's why PF is in shambles, they haven't had to deal with this in ages, unless they actually, ironically, play pvp.
