Don't worry. Healers get shunned and hated in every Game even if you are good. In ESO literally EVERYBODY hates Healers. No matter if pve or pvp. ESO DPS players also dare to say that Healer is the EASIEST role in PVE. All that while completely ignoring that many Healers have to Heal in PLATE ARMOR (less mana regen and abandoning other bonuses for healing) to be able to tank the Adds/Bosses while they have to resurrect the Tank and DPS that failed to play the mechanic or took a vacation in a void zone.

In WoW Healers get hate too (and constant, weekly nerfs) Some people scream for the same treatment that FFXIV's pvp got. Outright removing Healers and deny support players to participate.

FFXIV is the worst offender though.. its the only Game i know that outright removed Healers from a Game mode.

That said, Healers are shunned everywhere these days.

Maybe nowadays but back in ~2009 when I was playing D&DOnline the community was pretty nice to the healers. They'd even give us some of their trash loot/mana potions after a raid as compensation for any consumables we'd use like wands of healing/scrolls. Although much like this game you were expected to be doing damage between keeping people alive.

Yeah back then Healers and Tanks got treated like VIP's. Those days are over. Today we get treated like hindrances.

Someone's got to be held responsible, and since the game makes self reflection and improvement more challenging than the content itself whilst also actively dissuading any amount of accountability, whilst large pools of players within each DC breeds a large degree of anonymity that breeds it's own issues. It's only natural that less experienced and/or intelligent players will pass the buck of their failings onto the easiest target, which in this case is usually the healer sadly.

It's pretty depressing and has been for quite some time TBH. Back in the likes of Everquest and FFXI, these sorts of players would get found out generally resulting in them being forced to work on their attitude and understanding or face a life of sitting in Jueno or PoT.

Meanwhile in FFXIV, on the rare occasion you actually get the opportunity to try and educate someone on what actually happened, they generally aren't interested no matter how politely you put it. They just want to vent at a soft target, facts be damned.

Your actually wrong. As a WHM main from 1.0 I've never had as much fun as I have in this tiers normal.

Knocking ppl down so much that we're forced to heal is a good thing. It gives healthier something to watch. I've had to juggle my CDs on each aoe. Amd I've loved it.

The bleed is abit evil BUT if both healthier work together I've overcome it multiple times.

This is a step in the right direction for healers.

I have spammed them si ce release because I love the aesthetics and how much I need to keep my eye on things.

    Totally agree with this.

Ff14 has made a bad habit of making things too easy. I've said I've healed since 1.0. If you die ill grab you up I don't mind that's my job role. I'll hard cast if I have to.

I think the thing is, ppl are so avert to failing that they don't learn. Since patch 7.2 I've seen so many ppl chat, have fun and discuss mechanics. It's been fun. A game is suppost to deliver fun.

number one rule: dps players are never to blame, its the no responsibility role.

standing inside stuff and dieing because of several vuln debuffs? since you rarely die instantly its obviously the healers fault

tanks running out of mitigation because trash dies too slowly? since the tank is the first to die its obviously the tanks fault.

how you even know about too little dmg? oh you must use dmg meter. YOU are the bad one.

what do you mean rotation? i use my skills always correctly.

never ever say people do too little dmg... especially in casual communities its a burning hot iron to touch

I think it's because generally, bleed mechanics that exist in normal content only tickle, so the vast majority forget that they exist or that it's an option since any form of mitigation from the support side is often enough.

With savage depends on when people actually prog. The first couple of weeks are the roughest since you are in entry-level gear, but aside from that, there is not much going on.

Ive healed for years now and this tier is the most fun in a long time. Quick pace and lots to heal. I have done m8 now a couple of times and it is a step in the right direction for healers. back to back damage, quick mechanics. I miss almagest though, that was fun. The extreme can be solohealed day one and will probably be laughable as soon as people start getting their savage gear. And then it can probably be cleared without healers. If you solve the mechanics there is no outgoing damage, which I think is a problem. It should be more or less damage. The dot you can get from crossing through the center is spicy as hell but we healed through it fine once we got comfy on mechanics. One of the mechanics in the end we simply cheesed with shields. Not even Lb, just scholar shields. Kinda silly.

Reminds me when a WoW guild leader from back in the day actually texted me on my phone irl and told me to go online asap and heal his LBRS key runs or he'll kick me from the guild. MMO healers are just treated as b..ches like you're not even a real person anymore, you're just a healing bot that makes it so people can get what they want in the game, if everything goes well then all you did was doing your job as expected of you there's no thanks, no well done, nothing. But the second you screw up and someone dies or the group/raid wipes all hell breaks loose. Let alone you trying to get dibs on some non-healing items so you could actually have fun in the game too.
