Perhaps a FATE near Black Brush station suitable for level 15 players that you can play through? How about a 15-part Fetch Quest in and around Ul'dah, Gridania and Limsa Lominsa? Or a 10-part Speak to A, travel, Speak to B, travel, rinse-repeat quest? Perhaps join in on the only level 15 dungeon for 12 minutes?

I am amused at the thought that a Holiday Event accessible by extremely low-level characters should be complex in resolution.
Unironically - yes to the fate bit, no to 2nd and 3rd (they are fundamentally the same event design that we have now), and yes to the last. Or, bring back the singing chocobo minigame with a different song and the songbirds. Anything that goes beyond "go to NPC and click talk", that actually encourages players to do more than just read.

I am amused by the generic forum poster who thinks its okay for this game to strip every ounce of gameplay from every aspect whatsoever in the pursuit of accessibility. Humans are generally capable of learning, adapting, and figuring out a path forward. Even newcomers to this game, you'd be surprised.

At least we get a cool glamourable item out of it this time. I can see parts of the outfit working for all kinds of glams.

I don't get why they won't at least reimplement the minigames from the years they were still trying. Even if there weren't any rewards, it'd be something to do for fun.

Love the glam. Can't wait to get it.

I know they said they would use old characters on artwork that may not be in the event but I'm still curious if she will be somehow and what kind of emotional damage we'll get because of it.

Ah, yes. Let’s water down every event to accommodate low-level/free trial players and keep every event confined to the starter cities with the same tired formula, instead of, you know, maybe doing something in the new expansion zones?
Maybe, just MAYBE, incorporate past event rewards in a way that actually gives existing players a reason to engage with the various other content this game has to offer (as shallow as it may currently be)?

Or, crazy thought, I know, use these events to experiment with new gameplay elements and gather player feedback before committing to something massive in the next expansion that could turn into a dumpster fire nobody asked for?

But no, that’s far too sensible. Let’s keep expectations at rock bottom so we can all stay thrilled by copy-paste content and the occasional reskinned dungeon.

    Jeez...

Look, you can make arguments about the quality of the events but the reason they take place at the starter cities at low level is because they're free content meant to be accessible to just about everyone (I say just about because there is at least the level 15 requirement).

The fantastic Halloween events with the haunted houses, the Valentione event with the maze, the Rising where we met the devs or the one where we rescued the Wandering Minstrel - all those and more took place in starter cities. They don't put these events in expansion zones because that's putting a price tag on what's supposed to be additional free content.

I personally am hyped for the glam and can't wait to get my hands on it.

I also have no issues with the events taking place in and around the starter cities, I remember fondly being very excited as a sprout when I did the easter event and I had not even stepped into my first dungeon, lol. I wouldn't want new players to be denied that.

Take a look through literally any of these and you can see what a real Final Fantasy seasonal event should look like.

It doesn't need to be an incredibly complex thing, but it certainly should be interesting, engaging and fun to do. Defending the absolute bare minimum does not help the game, it harms it.
