EX fight weapon is +0/+5 item levels above current crafted weapon, good for a start.

Equivalent to crafted gear item level is only really necessary for 3rd + 4th savage floor in a tier. Before that you can basically go with a mix of normal mode raid gear (1-4 equipment pieces depending on what you get), ideally upgraded previous tomestone gear and unupgraded current tomestone gear. On the first savage tier in an expansion, you even have access to crafted equivalent accessories from the other EX fight. Clearing the first two floors you also have a chance to get max item level equipment if you are lucky.

If you are intending to do the whole tier week 1, you are sort of expected to be the type of player that prepares a fair bit and either has a healthy amount of gil, good friends that craft for you or your own crafters levelled + geared.

Personally, I've gone for the self-sufficient route and just craft my own stuff.

It's high end content. Why are we surprised we have to play the game at least a little to enter a high end duty? I don't really think freshly new players are going to one shot the next tier in a week, so why bother with full crafted gear? Even a sprout player, as long as they're in full tomestone gear as of now will be able to enter M5S. So they can start by this without paying '20M gil for a crafted gear'. There are alternatives, by the time a sprout player will down a boss, they'll also be able to loot gear from previous savages, earn enough tomestones to buy tome gear and thus, reaching the iLVL requirement of the next floors. Your post sounds like a freshly new player will be able to go directly in less than a week fight M8S. Because, even if a new player is starting savage week1, why bother with paying a full crafted gear if they are playing casualy, are a 'new player', so discovering savage? A sprout player is not going to beat the tier in less than a week
A player being 730 right now will only need 10 more ilvl to enter M8S. Again, by the time they'll down a boss, they'll get this iLVL.
I really don't understand the complain of this post. Week 1 raiding for a sprout player is not hard because the mini ILVL of the first floor of a new tier is really low. The next one is only 5 ilvl above. They're generous enough to give you a full week to get more iLVL before release, with NM gear, EX weapon and tomestone gear (to avoid paying a full crafted gear)

Its a crazy concept for a entry into savage raiding on week one for new people that just want to play the game (you know fighting hard bosses)
    1. You dont even need to overmeld your crafter gear to be able to craft combat gear, sorry but thats just a excuse to be lazy

    2. 20 mio a set is mostly only day one after it it will be way way cheaper

The item level entry into Savage is already EXTREMELY low. Veteran players are above it. In fact, casual players are usually above it too. Let me explain.

The first Savage fight is scaled for item level 700.
    • You can farm item level 700 gear in under a day by gathering tomestones and spending them at Solution Nine.
    • You can buy item level 710 gear from the market board for hardly any gil whatsoever.
    • You can clear the normal raids to get item level 710 gear as well.
    • As of the catch-up patches (7.1, 7.3, 7.5) you can augment the crafted gear to 720 using tomestones.
    • You can also mix this with 720 Heliometry gear which is on a weekly cap.

Pentamelded. Which is not needed. You should just buy the normal gear for 20k-100k gil. Then you can meld materia to it yourself via a Materia Melder.

If you want to pentameld, you can, either by buying the materia or farming it from hunts, but you will probably clear without pentamelds.
might be on 3million if they bought like no glams on their journey.
I have raid alts and I have just casually logged onto them after years, with hardly any gil, and geared myself up in creative ways:
    • Get any tomestone gear I can.
    • Get normal raid loot.
    • Fill remainder with what crafted gear I can afford.
    • Clear an extreme for the weapon if lacking gil for one.
    • Try to get food and pots, sell any rare loot to make gil. Worst case, use the previous tier food/pot.
And that's on characters I don't normally play. If I actually played them I probably wouldn't be in that situation.
Once the fourth week hits he looks at party finder then now all he sees is re-clear
Nonsense. There are always first time clear and prog parties.
watch hector guide, watch happy guide
I agree that our raid terminology confuses new players. A new player does not understand:
    Code:
    TN | 1/3 enum | DPS CW | mario kart N | tanks NE/NW, stack S | PS colors
Unfortunately, the only solution I see is for a veteran player to guide and teach them what all that means, or for them to follow content creators that explain it. Alternatively, they will learn what it all means in a fresh prog party as people explain it to them.
Pls move mandatory raid entry item lvl to repeatable tome gear.
I do think savage should be scaled for previous tier gear on the basis that it doesn't feel good to remove all your raid gear for the next tier.

What are you talking about? It cost 20 mil only day one, after a week when the savage actually drops the whole set cost 2 mil at most. If you don’t have gil you should rather be concerned about food and potions as you’ll be spending way more gil on them than on your gear set. Just lvl up crafters it’s not that hard or farm the tome gear, I’ve cleared all the endwalker tiers after week 16 and my experience wasn’t different from clearing it on release in DT. Don’t you have a raiding DC on NA? Try going there

So the sprout has made a general observation, then figured that they need XYZ amount of gil to participate in first week raiding, which are pretty much cyclical. Their conclusion is... not to prep toward their next tier playthrough?

Also, you do realize that the same material that uses uncapped tome will also skyrocket in price at earlier weeks? You can always farm and sell them for easy money and use them for those raid gears... or better, commission some crafter to do it for you. They usually only ask for the materials you pick up with uncapped tome and is a cheaper alternative vs buying what's in the MB, for most of time. Materias also skyrocket because pentamelders.

There are many ways to accumulate gils steadily to prepare a smooth sailing week 1 raiding in PF. Complaining for a nerf isn't one of them.

Don't worry. The MB botters have done this job for SE wonderfully. Which should be suffice to conclude: they don't care enough to deal with MB botter, what makes you think SE would nerf this? lol

This is exactly the point, the system as it stands filters out the people that are unwilling or unable to put effort into something that is difficult to obtain.

That's what I do and have planned and that leads me to earning tens of millions during patch week of any major patches with new craftable gear. It's really worth being an omnicrafter and gatherer since you save so much not buying the mats from the MB. You don't even need to pentamenld the latest crafter gear to be able to craft the new gear coming up.

I'm also against paying for raid clears, what is the purpose then? A story skip and class leveling skip is fine but paying for raid gear you didn't earn takes away the reason for raiding. At that point, why play the game at all, you may as well watch someone streaming their gameplay if you don't want to raid?

My issue with "savage" stuff isn't in-game issues its more of how you basically have to use team speak and schedule days for "X" and honestly the social aspect of doing them is what kills them for me even though I know I could do them and handle it I choice not to because A. don't want to do team speak with people that I don't know at least on a personal level and B. scheduling things for a social aspect with my mental state isn't a good idea for me if they are 4man- or at most 5man I could handle it but the more people there are the more i cant handle the social bs I mean in a game like Wow id probably do it because people arent as.. well "pussys" with the report button and kick out just because they feel uncomfortable. I mean when im in a good day for me i make people uncomfortable when in my manic joy state and if im in my other states people are just as uncomfortable lol

So PF them? People do all the time. Though if you know you consistently make people uncomfortable, maybe uh, work on that. Mental health issues might explain, but it isn't an excuse or a free pass.
