As I expected, no mentions of character update correction have been made in the whole Live Letter. Who would have thought, I wonder?
(WARNING: MINOR DAWNTRAIL SPOILERS)
Krille still has her deformed Hyuran nose instead of a cute Lalafellin button; lower lips still behave strangely when the character is talking. The only positive change I saw was Y'shtola's face; it seemed like the holes at the corners of her mouth became less deep. But it might be the effect of low resolution and dim lighting.

So are they just not bothering to even pretend about addressing face issues anymore? My elezen still looks like he did in 7.0 and hasn't changed one iota, and I don't recall seeing anything about further graphical updates in the LL

"Well, it's no Vana'diel, but it'll have to do..."
Not even a single slide. I'm becoming more and more convinced that this game isn't being cared enough for on a personal level. Yoshida should just accept that he should just be a beloved famous celebrity producer. As a director he's grown rather soft and instead of pushing his team towards a vision he goes the extra mile to invent excuses for their interesting choices or sloppiness.
He should really choose a director who can turn ffxiv around so he can think about collabs and merch like the celebrity producer that he is.

Any would-be director competent enough to course correct would be assigned to the unnamed project instead. Not even a single slide. To be fair, if it wasn't changed in 7.1 then it would be pretty unlikely to get changed randomly before 7.2.
I'm eyeing it nervously but I'm not expecting them to make a big deal of it until it comes. If things really are getting fixed, they may not want to talk about it much because it's embarrassing to have to go back and redo it. Or maybe they're not talking much because they haven't done much to talk about. Time will tell.

I'm a gposer, and the *ahem* tools we use only recently began working with older NPC faces.
So I tried logging in to gpose with my favorite grumpy Garlean and...
Jfc where are his pupils? What did they do? He literally looks dead/blind.
I'm tired, boss...

Still waiting on them to fix the eyeshine in male miqo face 4, right now with the way the eye shapes combine with posture, the eyeshine gets hidden behind eyelids bc it's currently mapped in the same position on all eyeballs regardless of what shape the eyelid is. It makes it so they look dead. I really really wish they would just go back to the previous method of having the eyeshine painted on rather than relying on the ambient lighting, this solved the issue and my boy didn't look soulless :/

I still want them to just totally review how they've done the structure for male Miqo'te eyes. They basically misinterpreted the illusion that was there and tried to rebuild it in the wrong way.Still waiting on them to fix the eyeshine in male miqo face 4, right now with the way the eye shapes combine with posture, the eyeshine gets hidden behind eyelids bc it's currently mapped in the same position on all eyeballs regardless of what shape the eyelid is.
