Square Enix doesn't care about Privacy. They allowed the Blacklist to be one of the most ineffective tools on any MMORPG for a decade. The only thing worse than the way SE designed the blacklist, is the community finding ways to CONTINUE their predatory stalking behaviours. Really fantastic community we have on this game. I'm half annoyed with Square Enixes fumbling of basic privacy with their awful coding, and half annoyed that we have dedicated communities on this game to enable this behaviour, and no one is ever held accountable for their behaviour.

Nope. I imagine they don't want more hysteria to spread the longer that thread stays up. I'd imagine maybe they might be aware, but will they respond? We don't know. I'm not expecting it. I think people should stop discussing the you know what and actually focus on the issues that the game has in terms of privacy concerns.

Did you read what I wrote? Or is reading too hard for you...?
How the current blacklist functions is that it renames people you blacklisted to Unknown01, Unknown02 etc, keeps sending chat notifications that their messages have been blacklisted. I don't want to be affected by someone's decision to blacklist me. I don't need to know that information, if anything it just inconveniences me. I don't like that implementation in the blacklist system currently either so...

I think that's excessive actually and would be really confusing considering the current implementation, being unable to see/read someone who blacklisted me and I don't know who or why, I'd imagine it being really messy. This takes agency and puts it in someone else's hands. Sorry no, I don't need to know or care if someone blacklisted me. Affect what's on your screen. Friendlist can/should be two way because it gives away location information/online status..

It's sufficient enough that if someone blacklists/mutelists you then you can't join their PFs.

Nah, blacklist should work both ways, and so does friendlist removal, if you care about someone blacklisting you, that's on you.

I'm telling you how it works. The current blacklist implementation is something I find pretty disruptive, this is supposed to be something that gives you peace of mind, but instead it brings to your attention that you have someone blacklisted, everytime they type in chat (This message is from a blacklisted character.) pops up. It happened to me in frontlines actually, I didn't recognize the person's name at all (likely an alt) so I wanted to unblock them to see what they're saying but spent the match abit confused.

You could ask 'why not just mute them', well, previously blacklisted people to my knowledge moved to the blacklist rather than mute list. Sometimes the option to mute someone isn't there and the only option is to blacklist them (which is extreme imo), this is all blacklist/mute list jank that existed prior to this implementation.
