PvE balance and the obsession with the "two minute meta" in the current balance is absolutely bonkers. I think the devs got spooked over the P8S drama and doubled down on DT job balance sure that every single role deals the exact same damage/healing/support with very minor variations.

It is a stark contrast to older raids like T4. Those of you who played T4 when it was current remember that it was an extremely tight DPS check, some jobs were optimal and some weren't, and it was perfectly fine, because those suboptimal jobs had their uses in other raids. Not everything has to play the exact same way.

Players used to pause and explain mechanics or give directions on which way to go when they saw that first time bonus notification, but that doesn’t happen anymore now that even dungeons are down to just “follow the leader.”
Those dungeons got simplified because of Duty Support compatibility, it's a lot harder to code trusts to aim a snowball at a yeti or not let Aiatar stand in the green goop than it is to just tell them "don't stand in the bad spot".

    Achievements!

I know this one is a bit out there after reading all of the job change discussions in this thread; but I would like the achievement system to be updated with much more consideration.

    My suggestions are as followed:

    - Time gated achievements should never go past an expansion's lifecycle. Meaning, 3 years roughly. A lot of players know of the infamous 6 year levequest achievements, but a other one is sneaking up there as well. That is the custom deliveries achievements. To obtain all of them: (150 turn ins, 10 NPCs, and only 12 allowances per week.) One would have to spend almost 2 and a half years playing the game without taking a break to get them all done. The custom deliveries should end in Dawntrail, and a new system should be implemented.

(I know some would say to just not focus on such achievements, but hunters get stuck in the sunk cost fallacy so easily. Their goal is to complete everything, and they will go out of their way to get them even if its not great. SE needs to be careful on how they do time-gated achievements, and keep them at a healthy limit. Same with my next point below.)

    - No more stacking grind achievements on top of grind achievements. Examples would be 10,000 FATES, 20,000 accursed hoard, 10,000 A-rank hunts, 10,000 HQ crafts, and quite a few more. As much as I know some players are nearing these goals; imagine being a new player in Dawntrail and seeing this. Most players won't reach the 1,000 accursed horde after doing all 3 deep dungeons a few times. I've talked to a few hunters myself, and we all can agree that if this gets worse; it will incentivize botting more and more. We don't want this, we know SE doesn't want this, and most players frown upon this. SE, if you have to put a grind somewhere; put it with different or new content instead, and don't overshoot it to where it'll burn the joy out of the game.

    - More diverse rewards. In case people haven't notice; there are 601 titles in FFXIV right now. 601... If you ask me, I think were getting a bit bloated here with just one sort of reward. I get titles can play big factor in roleplay, cosplays, and even showing off; but there are so many! You can only wear one at a time too. I know minions and mounts are in the same boat sorta, but titles do take up the majority of achievement rewards. I ask for more diverse rewards that will help a player feel excited to go for some achievements.

    - An option to see achievement points in the game. The only way to see anyone's achievements is on the lodestone. There is no way to see it on the game itself. I personally would like a option to share it with a design that is not intrusive. I do not wish to showcase achievement points like someone who holds an ultimate weapon in town. My personal idea would be to have an option to share it on our adventure plates.

Thank you for reading. My word count is up.

Honestly...I feel like I could handle anything they throw at us so long as Hiroi doesn't write another word for this game ever again.

And it does two birds with one stone since it also makes new players go through the same basic lego blocks they'll have to play all the way up to endgame anyway. No more quirky mechanics or unique stuff in msq dungeons. They're all reworked to teach players how a stack marker works, etc. Which isn't bad in itself and that's what people asked for ages, but when it's the only thing that's left... It's dreadfully dull. But very representative of what to expect of the endgame anyway. At least they're coherent with themselves there.

I think they are probably referring to a case when you can showcase it to others, or having others showcase their own achievement score natively in the game, as opposed to simply just viewing their own score. Even giving an example, e.g., showcasing it on your adventurer plate.

All this talk about the next expansion instead of the current expansion. It really shows that CBU3 has lost a lot of confidence in themselves and are already labelling this a failure. We aren't even at 7.1

Look at Black Myth Wukong if you want to see a passion project.

Dawntrail feels like a mandatory handover of homework for monday morning "Oh sorry it's still a bit unfinished." and the story didn't even come to attend that monday morning class, but is absent from school until further notice.

Please look forward to a complete game and actual innovation at 9.0
