This is a player problem, not a dev problem, the FF14 community has a mental illness issue over nerfs that seems to be particularly bad compared to other MMOs.[
"so they decided to make more work for themselves by buffing half the roster instead of just kneecapping the actual problem by nerfing 1 (one) job, then did not have the time to retune the raid because of all the needless extra work they created for themselves? and that's all just because they were afraid of a few players crying about a clearly overpowered job getting slapped on the wrist a little?"
Midcore parsers screeching when they can't gold-parse with one button like they want.
It's why we lost Kaiten. The good players didn't care, the bad ones didn't have it on their hotbar or used it whenever.
For the record I was expecting Picto nerfs, but then every ice rotation BLM would hoot and holler that BLM's next for nerfs when their DPS is already stuck in the devil's buttcrack.
Was the savage really that easy? (didn't do it). Not sure if savage should be on the edge and pretend to be shorter ultimate fights.
I think the real mental illness here is the fact some people like to using mental illness as a way to boost their point in a trivial discussion.
It was much easier than normal, yeah. World First was very quick itself (around 9 hours I think, though WF can be an outlier sometimes), my group had a day 2 kill of m4s this tier and I feel like that should not have been anywhere near the case for us (with I think all our pandaemonium clears being day 5 or something), and there are census stats that show how huge the amount of week 1 clears are than in pandaemonium, which isn't just because there's a larger raiding population.
Honestly this tier was still very fun and the lack of bodychecks every 5 seconds is a breath of fresh air, but if they do that they should make sure the dps check still asks you to do the mechanics properly to beat enrage. I think in our first m3s clear we had something like 7 deaths, and I don't think we even saw any of the actual enrage attacks go out. Not saying you should need to be perfect, but I feel like 2 or 3 deaths being the max allowable in a 3rd fight on week 1 is more reasonable.
And before people skewer me for talking about week 1 and ignoring how it is for most of PF, I'm just talking about it as a point of reference to other tiers. Clearly most people aren't bothering with wk1, but if that kind of thing is possible on wk1 then I can only imagine how much you're gonna be able to skip / not worry about in later clears compared to something like phoinix, which I feel like was much harder than bomber's enrage. Especially since this tier it seems like they decided to make a bunch of hard mechanics that show up right at the end of the boss's HP bar, so once you get gear you won't see them anymore anyway.
I got my week 1 clear through pf. Probably the best way to put it is, they should prob consider nerfs (look at what happened with Arcane Circle and of course, Expedient Tactics on Sch) and all that. It's maybe alright to make this mistake on the first tier but it should not be a reoccurring thing.
Acknowledging the outlier and the consequences of their approach and still going through with it. Because someone might throw a tantrum.
when p8s is too hard, all the people cry
when m4s is too easy, all the people cry
I've done both week1 and they were both really really cool, there's no need to complain xd
dps check =/= difficulty =/= fun
no, eden's gate dps check was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay harder than m4s dps check (week1)People have short memories and care too much about an ever improving world first competition which biases their view.
I've played through Apshodelos and Eden's Gate and both were extremely similar in terms of DPS checks. You could have a couple of death and still clear their last fights the same. In terms of learning progression, it was also identical on my end since with similar statics it took me for all of them around 3 weeks (12h a week give or take). Your mileage may vary of course, but on my end, I really didn't see any difference.
If anything people are just out of Abyssos and Anabaseios, that have proven especially gruesome comparatively to what we had in previous expansions for 2nd and 3rd tiers (notably in the lower fights).
I do agree with people's reactions to SE's takes though. Their reasoning is shaky or inconsistent.
asphodelos was a bit easier, but still harder than m4s (also week1)
but that doesn't mean either of them are bad, i loved both of them
