I would like to see armor to have an active and passive effect.
How cool would it be for a body piece that pattern lighted up based on your current enmity level.
Not annoying bright light up, but faint enough for you to say... "Oh cool!"

Still debating I see~ the way I see it, you're gonna get normal weapons and you're gonna get crazy weapons. It would not be final fantasy if neither of those were true. Since I'm assuming most of us are here because we are final fantasy fans, I don't see the need for trashing the design team. As i've said earlier, the design team is doing what final fantasy has always done.
There is a particular challenge with MMO's when it comes to weaponry: if you want it to be appreciated, it has to be noticeable. Of course what prevents something from being noticeable is the general nature of an mmorpg, and that is the zoomed-out camera and flashy spell/skill effects. Both of these, combined, really detract from the beauty of a weapon without making it large, flashy, or otherwise more noticeable. Could you imagine if pgl weapons were as tiny as brass knuckles? Who the hell would be excited about getting new gear when you can't even see it. Wooooot new brass knuckles that I can't even see! This makes upgrading so exciting!! Not. Weapons have to be somewhat oversized or somewhat overdetailed in order to stand out. If they don't stand out, then from an aesthetics point of view no one will give 2 shits about getting a new weapon really. Some ppl might because they love that sort of thing, but quite a lot of ppl (myself included) would find every upgrade sorely underwhelming. Joy oh joy, another recolor of a weapon I already have. I encourage SE's creativity. Give me crazy weapons, normal weapons, flashy weapons, silly weapons...make every new weapon feel *distinct*. And that is waht SE is doing. Good for them.

I don't care what you guys say, those bricks of fire are going to look great on my hellsguard monk!
HULK SMASH!!
Just a funny note.. Before I saw the video of the PGL weapon, I saw a pic of it that someone had posted. I thought it was some messed up weapon glitching all over the place or not showing properly.. just ending up in big messed up blocks. >.> I didn't think they were supposed to look like that! lol ^^;

Personal note:
Nabiri showing signs of taking pleasure in the distress of others. May be wicked mastermind in guise of beloved voice of reason. Must investigate further.
D:! lol I do wish PGL had something nicer really. XD I would try out the class if it didn't look so ... ridiculous. :x
(btw, love your Gramul pics! XD)
Nearly fell off my chair laughing. XDDDDD

Ugh, really wish they'd stop coming out with a million and one weapons and add more mob types already. Between Ifrit, Garuda, Moogle, GC, AF, new dungeon and crafted weapons, we're stuck with a bunch of lvl 50ish weapons and nothing new to use them on...

This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
Except moogle and ifrit weps are good for different situations and those AV and CC weps are for folks who cant get the other 2.
Moogle weps are amazing for solo cause you don't have that party bonus and ifrit weps are good for that dmg to bosses. I use 3 weps for my thm.
