[Feedback] Wuk Lamat's English Voice

Something I haven't seen anyone bring up yet, but happens a lot especially in regards to Wuk Lamat. Quite often many of the scenes are her and the Scions, and it seems like the VAs for the Scions have at least met each other before, maybe even recorded voice lines together and played off each other before. And that does not seem to be the case with Wuk Lamat, and so quite often it comes off like she's not even in the same room or scenario as them and it's very jarring. But sometimes it will also happen in regards to when she's in a scene with Koana, and sometimes even Koana comes across as not in the same room/scenario as the Scions, either, but obviously much less so because he doesn't have nearly as many lines interacting with the Scions that Wuk Lamat has. I think that definitely played a role, good acting definitely requires you to know what your scene partners are like and how they like to play out a scene and what the general vibes are. I genuinely have no idea if the VA for Wuk Lamat ever even met the VAs that are based in the UK, let alone even had a conversation, especially for some like the guy who voices G'raha Tia because it sounds like he would be way too busy anyway.

Thank goodness that I've completed the MSQ and can now swap back to English and never have to hear poochie unless I for some reason decide to do a trial roulette and somehow get stuck with the last trial.

From my understanding the new studios they went with for the English dub apparently had a director who was barely there and gave little to no direction. This is what I heard, anyhow. I dont blame the VA. I blame the director and those at SE that listened to what was produced and said "This is good enough".

Sadly the only good language for Poochie is Sign.

We all know the VA was chosen for political reasons, not talent, by a politically motivated localization contractor known to ruin games to push their weirdo worldview no one else cares about, and threaten and blackmail companies that try to drop them.
The voice keeps dropping into weirdly masculine tones, hence how uncanny wuk lamat sounds.

I think we got off lucky and sweetbaby didnt have more influence on the game than it did, or ffxiv would be in the garbage with every other game sweetbaby has touched. There has not been a single game that hasnt been worse off for working with sweetbaby, without exception, every single one.

Wuk lamat would have been a trans black polyamorous lesbian overthrowing the patriarchy to install a socialist regime while constantly accusing eorzeans of racism and worshipping erenville. They'd have emasculated Estinien and given us a creepy sex ed scene with the twins im sure. Then some bs that eorzea had enslaved their continent and now they have to pay reparations.

And dont forget the you know who look alike whod want to make garlemald great again, who could only be torturously and grotesquely publicly murdered after being thoroughly humiliated.

Ah... I guess there's always next expansion to look forward to this.

Sweet Baby hasn't worked on this game at all. Yes, SE did use some consultation / sensibility readers for Dawntrail (and I do suspect they're part of the reason why all the different tribes feel so boring, sanitised, and squeaky clean this expansion) but there's no reason at all to believe it was Sweet Baby. So let's not spread misinformation and start fighting windmills and bogeymen.

This thread is about the bad English voice acting of Wuk Lamat, so let's focus on that. If there's any actual proof the VA was just hired for DEI reasons or whatever else then sure, criticise that, but throwing around wild accusations without proof is not strengthening your arguments. It will just result in people not taking you, and your complaints, seriously and dismissing the actual legitimate criticisms as "transphobic hate comments". It's completely counter productive.
