People have given many many examples of how she is poorly written, clown harder bro.
I'm slogging through MSQ and...the kidnapping beat was so poorly executed. It also made me realize that the writing improves when she isn't on screen -- probably because my character actually exists again -- so I felt nothing but disappointment when we rescued her so quickly with little to no resistance. Seriously, some of the extremely minor story beats were more (uselessly) drawn out than our supposed leading heroine being kidnapped? The setup was completely contrived too - as if we'd ever let someone who's a prime target for ransom and potential violence (this is a political contest!!) walk off ALONE with some random person while we stand around like lemmings. The writers must have known it was stupid and unbelievable as well since the only way to pull it off was to make us wait in place three times over. Comical.
I honestly hate how utterly one-dimensional Llama Yeet is. She's like the worst shonen anime protagonist I think they could come up with. It would be kind of cool if somewhere along the way she died... so I can go: "Oh no! Anyway..."
I've now reached level 96 quests. And I've never felt more distant than during these MSQ quests.
The way Alisaie and the other Scions speak to the WoL is completely absurd, as if we were just random people who had just met.
My WoL just doesn't react like that. Then there's this completely stupid smile from the WoL to every question and this constant nodding in response to every task.
As a WoL you have absolutely no say during the entire MSQ, not even a little resistance.
I've never felt more rage than during this stupid MSQ.
Whoever is responsible for this garbage, please step on Lego bricks every day for the rest of your life.
And do the world a favor... STOP WRITING MSQ STORIES!
Someone call the Forum Police! Because I wrote passive aggressively that DT looks not good. Oh how right I was!
Don't forget that you can literally see the entire road from start to end from the spot you wait at, you literally have a sightline from point A to point B the entire distance to the town she's supposed to go to yet 0 people out of the entire group of people you were waiting with decided to keep an eye on her during her walkI'm slogging through MSQ and...the kidnapping beat was so poorly executed. Mind you, your group consists of quite a few very intelligent individuals, but collective IQ drops when Wuk Lamat is around or central to the plot
My main problem with this part is it's so obvious. She's been glued to us the entire time, then suddenly she just go off on her own. Adding the previous scene and I think most people know it gonna go wrong even before she left the group. I don't know why the writers feel like they need to telegraph the story by THIS much.Don't forget that you can literally see the entire road from start to end from the spot you wait at, you literally have a sightline from point A to point B the entire distance to the town she's supposed to go to yet 0 people out of the entire group of people you were waiting with decided to keep an eye on her during her walk
Let's be honest, the group was glad to get 5 minutes to themselves.
My main problem with it isn't even that it was obvious. My main problem is that literally the instant she's gone, characters remember how to be competent again. Koana devises a plan, uses the Scions and us in roles according to our skill set, orchestrates a rescue, and the very second the house cat is free... Everyone becomes dumb again, and lets him escape. We could literally overpower him and his goons with even just one of the Scions. We canonically have that much power each, when we're not being nerfed for the Mary Sue, of course. It doesn't even have to be us. Thancred alone has dealt with far worse in his time on the First. My main problem with this part is it's so obvious. I mean, let's not forget that when Depression Bird knocked us unconscious, he was literally the only one of us to actually resist long enough to sacrifice himself so we could live. Let me repeat that. Thancred stood up to something that knocked us, the overpowered Warriors of Light, on our asses, and still had enough strength to do what needed to be done.
You're not gonna tell me that all of those dudes together add up to even half a Depression Bird. No way in hell.
