[Suggestion] Fashion/Vanity Slots.

I'm still against it. It may fit in games like dc universe online but i dont want to see people run around in whatever they want while still have awesome stats.
We also have the Materia System. When you rly want to wear something else that doesnt have super awesome stats, why not try to add up as much materia as you can to make this a good item with good looks?

There is no reason it works in one MMO and not another, it will work well in any MMO, one example, you do some quests and get awesome looking U/U gear, (hmm lets call this AF) this AF gear is sub par by another gear, everyone will jump onto the best in slot gear and everyone looks the same, with this you can look how you want, if you want this awesome looking subpar gear, it will have a use as a vanity item rather than -1 inventory.

Well..we are playing a fantasy type game, hehe it even has fantasy in the title! It would be nice to have some more fantasy type outfits instead of all this ugly, dark colored gear. atm the only stuff that looks nice is AF imo...

Fantasy means it has to be silly looking and shiny?

Also DCUO has rather simple looking gear compared to FFXIV but its has quite a lot of difrent looking gear so the chance is higher that people will end up looking diffrent with such a system.

Also people cry anyway about how the stat system in FFXIV has almost no impact on your dmg etc. and how gear has to low stats. So why dont choose gear by looks and add some Materia which has bigger impact on stats anyway?

People already all look the same if they are currently maxing stats. Black Mages are all wearing some sort of Felt Cavalier Hat, Tights or Gaskins and Pattens shoes along with the AF body. If you want to maximise your stats you are pretty much stuck with the same outfit as everyone else.
That is why I wanted to post this thread, so people in the future have the option of wearing what they want (with reasonable restrictions in place) and also benefit from the stats of certain pieces that may otherwise look ugly or clash with your outfit.

Lets not forget I personnaly love using a full set of gear, I hate mixing and matching based on what is best, full set always looks better.

Also different people prefer different things, it would show what the indevidual wants to look like, right now I feel like a mindless drone marching looking exactly the same as everyone else I want to don my onion helm but its useless, this system will allow me to do that.
