    Arcadion headgear on hrothgar

The icon shows a hat. Put it on. Surprise, it's glasses! Thanks, I hate it so much! ♥ Please never do this again.

I've said this before, but if unpaid fans can mod the hats on these cursed creatures over the weekend powered by instant ramen and Red Bull, what is stopping the actual devs from doing the same? Why even bother with an alternative as bad as this? It's been 5 years. I am on the brink of an aneurysm.

Small indie company, please understand. They need to put their money into more crap cash grabs instead of making the only game that makes them money better.

It probably comes down to one of two things:

    1. Hrothgar are such a tiny, insignificant minority of players that they simply do not care/it's at the very bottom of the priority list. If every Hrothgar player left at once it'd be an insignificant hit to the game's health.
    2. The game's underlying systems are so messed up and saddled with dysfunctional legacy code that adding a slight mesh alteration of a different headpeice is some herculean feat of a project for their developers.

Either is inexcusable after FIVE YEARS of Hrothgar being introduced honestly. The community babies the developers way too much.

Viera showing solidarity here, I hope they don't see this as a "you can wear headgear now " thing...

Especially with that hood that amputates a good 2ft of ears...

I was a Hrothgar up until that free Fantasia because I couldn't stand it anymore. It's so bad how halfass it all is

On the one hand, viera and male hrothgar aren't clipping through floors during old MSQ cutscenes. On the other hand, headgear compatibility was something that was supposed to come in waves over the course of Shadowbringers, which turned 5 earlier this month. Half a decade and they can't even be bothered to put ear holes in new headgear.

You seem to be under the misconception that the developers would be aware of there being several races in the game other than just your typical humans.

I fail to see what makes it difficult for female hroth to wear most headgear. One things that should be problematic are things that relies on the nose bridge.

    Same goes for hairstyles.

Modders aren't held to any sort of quality controls. It's easy to look at a mod and say "look how easy this is!", but it's not that simple. If a mod breaks with the next patch, or doesn't work on all OSs, or causes lag on certain hardware, or has any of the million issues a mod can have, the modders can just waive it away with a simple "run this at your own risk" warning. An official game feature can't let that happen. It has to work perfectly all the time every time, or it can't exists at all.

Now why exactly it's so hard for lions and bunnies wear hats, I have no idea. But if a fix was really that simple the devs would have long since done it themselves.

Even the 1.0 races with inhuman ears have been getting less and less gear that accommodates them, so the issue isn't limited to backporting the limited races' features.
