No you are right. These dialogue choices are just wanking for Wuk Lamat.
The writers did make sure to completely disconnect myself from my character. It's disgusting tbh.

Seeing this compiled makes it even worse.

Given some of the localisation choices in prior expansions, we know for a fact that the en team is very familiar with The Simpsons. I'm a bit surprised none of them referenced Poochie in the DT content that I've seen. Maybe they were just too close to see what had been created? Possibly too much benefit of the doubt there, but it's otherwise entirely baffling.

Is the Wuk Wankery the same in the Japanese version or is this a localization thing?

It's not a stretch to say that there was a noticeable decline in quality in both gameplay and story when they started designing it around trusts, and it disappoints me to see them destroy the MMO experience to cater to solo players. There are plenty of really good single player RPGs, why are we ruining this one for those players?

I also feel it's not just gameplay that's been suffering for awhile but I also feel story been suffering a massive decline in quality since 6.1 at least for me . Even music in dawntrail I feel has been lacking.

They just need to have trusts also include some faceless light projections instead of actual characters. We got nameless soldiers, adventurers, and scions in the backported trusts in ARR, HW, and StB. I don't see why they can't do that with future ones as well.
It's getting just a bit too obvious when characters only show up to fill out a role, and they still can't muster enough up to fill the last trial.

I agree I feel the only reason they keep the scions around is because solely for the trust system because there too afraid to write them out and find new characters to have as trust so they decide to keep the characters that's familiar with people and write the story around them.

Not going to lie.....the final dungeon and trial were absolutely fantastic gameplay wise. I was getting all hyped at the end of that trial and then....somehow...shes the one to break through constantly blaring out SPHENE!!! SPHENE!!! I was like, omg just stop...why do you have to always be shoved down my throat this entire expansion. I would have been happy if we just got some breathing room and once you finally feel like you will have a break, they jam her right down your throat again.

If the new characters are what we can expect, then I just want the scions completely back

After dawntrail I feel even the scions were horribly written this expansion and have no hopes of having a well written new character unless we get Ishikawa back or another more experienced writer who is able to write 40-60 hours worth of good story. I'm hoping the ff11 raids are left to the portion of the current dev team that previously worked on ff11 are the ones who work on the raids to hopefully preserve the legacy of ff11 instead of putting on the current msq writer.

In Pursuit of Sphene. Y'shtola contacts Wuk Lamat instead of the WoL. And then asks if the WoL is there. Because why would a Scion contact another Scion they count among their dearest friends when they can contact Wuk Lamat amirite?
