I don't think it is an overreaction. The expansion is just that bad.
The MSQ in particular is the worst it's been since 2.0. I know they had a new lead writer, but there were still tons of other people working on it and I'm honestly baffled that they could all look at it and be like "Yeah, this is fine."
Hell, if you ignore all the fetch quests/filler and look at just the raw story, I think 2.0 might have actually been significantly better than this.

I personally consider ARR superior in every aspect so far. At least there was a proper theme and the filler had purpose. There was intent behind action and you could actually see the layers of the story even if it was shallow sometimes. I also agreed and can't believe they signed this off and thought it was fine.

Dawntrail so far has had its moments and there is plenty of good to talk about outside the MSQ but yeah.

Instead of gaslighting people, telling them that what they feel is wrong and bad, do you have anything constructive to say about the topic?
Why DT is such a good expansion in your eyes, for example? Or what the dev team did right? Why the story was great in your opinion, and how Wuk Lamats character isn't as bad as people make it out to be?

Players that Paid up to 50 Euro's/USD + Sub are unhappy with the product and make their Displeasure known on the One Part of the internet where it Maybe gets relayed to the Devs by a CM.

I know, right?! It’s almost like people have been bringing up the exact same issues every single expansion and the developers still refuse to listen.

Not going to fake positivity for a product I paid full price for and a sub.

Its bad. Objectively. The msq has issue's the VA and cut scene designs have issues.

Depending on who you ask even quest and performance issues.

Heaven forbid if you where on an xbox and your game was completely unplayable.

So no as a player who loves this game I will be negative about that things that deserve it and positive about the things that do as well.

This expansion is not a positive thing for alot of players and they have a right to vent that negatively in whatever official format will listen.

It is literally what Yoshida told us to do to be heard by the developers.

No it's definitely objective, it ticks so many boxes for bad writing and presentation. Subjectively speaking you can like it all you want but objectively, particularly in regards to being a video game story oriented on the player character, the writing is demonstrably bad.

I mean, you can really twist the word "subjective" to some extreme like "making the player feel a passive onlooker in the story is to me good writing", but it's entirely objective that the writing goes out its way to do exactly that. You really can't deny truth when we break down some of the most egregious scenes, like letting Wuk Lamat get kidnapped for no reason, that there were a hundred ways to have the exact same general subplot but without insulting the player's intelligence.
