So is there anything good about Dawntrail at all?

Reading the forums, there seems to be nothing good about DT at all.
Maybe it's my fault reading before even completing DT. But the negativity starts to affect me, and I'm losing motivation. I just landed in Tural, and I immediately feel like logging off, because I've been hearing all bad things about Wuk Lamat.

So is there anything good to look forward to from DT?

Is wuk around a little too much? Yes. Did it ruin the story? No. I found it fun and entertaining. I enjoyed the different style we got this expansion.

I have no idea what you are reading, but this expansion is AMAZING!!!!
The story is well voice acted and well thought out, the gear designs look great, the music, which I will admit threw me off upon landing in Tuliyollal, is actually FABULOUS!

The MSQ pacing is great and will pretty much get you to 100 if you only do MSQ, aether currents and 6 fates per zone for riding maps on a single job.

TBH, I love everything about this expansion thus far. Experience it for yourself! Dont let others ruin stuff for you. It sounds like just nitpicky people coming on the forums to gripe.

This isn't really the attitude to have, to be honest. While I personally found many flaws with it, and in direct contrast to Endwalker where it had highs to go along with its lows I still ended up coming away with an overwhelmingly ill feeling in my gut that no amount of Wuk Lamat nor her overwhelmingly Genki attitude could abide.

Still, this is merely my own experience, and more than anything I would recommend you go into the expansion without permitting yourself to be influenced by the opinions and experiences of others as that will merely poison the well. Play it for yourself, disconnect from the internet for a time, and form your own conclusions. It just may surprise you in a pleasant way.

Dungeons have been fun and the music is really good. It really is just the MSQ that they blundered, The tournament arc raid series is probably gonna be awesome and story wise more enjoyable if a certain you know who doesn't find a way to crash the party somehow.

The battle content is the best is has been in awhile, some people are upset about Job design, but that very minor, The actual dungeons and Trials are good good. Its just a slog to get to them for many people because the story is mediocre and tedious, and if you dont like Wuk its mediocre tedious and grating.

And I do like the new zones and increased foliage and details its nice, i just wish they would have put more stuff in them that didnt only serve the MSQ, I would have loved to see Yok Huy ruins we dont touch til 7.2, Imposing structures that were actually there and not off screen, that are the lvl 100 Dungeons.

Dungeons and trials have been great, and I've loved the aesthetic of the gear we are able to get. The zones have looked wonderful as well. Viper and Pictomancer are both really fun. But that's honestly about it. I'm honestly relying on endgame to keep my occupied because I mentally checked out of the story about one and a half zones in and never looked back. I truly couldn't have been bothered to care. Too much telling, not enough showing. Not enough action I could actually participate in either. So, I stopped watching and listening entirely.

Dawntrail has many great features, sadly none of them have to do with the MSQ.

Two dye channel will change the glamour game, pictomancer is actually a really fun job for once, the music is awesome as usual, zone design is incredible and well i am a huge sucker for Solution9 and all the Cyberpunk stuff. Hope to see more glam in that direction.

Also seeing Krile finally being an integral part of the group is awesome and her story was really nice tho i wished we had way more screentime with her and not Wuk Wuk.

The biggest problem with the MSQ and Wuk Lamat is that her character seems to be Lyse 2.0 and yeah it's just horrible. But if you can see past that there are actually good plots in the story, which had not enough time to fully develop which is said cause they pushed for too much.

People can keep trying to spread the lies of "You expected it to be bad, so of course you thought it was bad!" like some defense of the absolutely depressing quality of this expansion, but it's not taking. The vast majority of us were expecting lower quality, sure, as there was no way this was going to be Endwalker tier. But we adjusted our expections to that. And we were still disappointed. This expansion was SO bad that it literally became that "Our expectations for you were low, but holy f-" meme.
