    WORLD BOSS FATES >:(

    World boss fates are a bad system. I spent 15 hours trying to get the world boss fate to spawn only for it to die in 10 seconds and I'm unable to get a hit in on it. I feel cheated and used. The fact the system requires me to wait sooooo long do all this work to then have it die instantly. I hate it. The system is archaic and does account for the 200 people waiting in the instances for it to spawn. Its a system that doesn't reward actually doing anything beyond waiting.

    Idk maybe a better way of doing it, is if your in the instance on the map and it spawns and dies, everyone in the map gets the rewards. If people want to sit and wait at the boss cool. But dont punish the people that are in the map doing the fate chains to get it to spawn.

    We saw this same thing happen in Shadowbringers and Endwalker as some players rushed to get the new rewards as fast as possible before they needed to commit their time to raiding. Once Savage was released, the crowds started thinning out and were more patient.

    My suggestion is don't be in a rush to get the rewards. Let the impolite rush crowd get what they want so they won't be back. Things will be better in a month.

    To be fair in ShB and EW the arenas were big enough that the boss wasn't being instantly pulled on spawn, so people actually had time to world hop and get to the boss. Waiting till later when the crowd thins is an option, but also a risk, as not enough people means the FATE doesn't get cleared(First time I ever fought Formidable it timed out due to lack of people). But the bigger issue is just how unfun it is to be stuck sitting in a map for hours waiting hoping for it to spawn after each run of the FATE chain.

    There's like 10+ servers you can check and 3 instances per map on each server, if you really want the items and achievements that badly you can easily knock it out in an afternoon, especially if you check player made trackers.

    Scaling the individual player to the boss level doesn't make a difference if the FATE isn't scaling correctly to the number of player present.

    If it's designed expecting a turnout of maybe 40 players and 350 show up, what do you think the result would be? The result is the boss dying in 10-15 seconds. With the current number of players showing up, you can help spawn the FATE in the 4th zone and not make it to the FATE location in time to be part of the kill because it's being annihilated the moment it spawns. Everyone wants the mount and it takes at least 2 kills to get enough tokens. Players are zone camping hoping to see the FATE spawn.

    As I said before, this happens at the start of every expansion. Players who want the reward now zerg the boss. As players start getting their rewards, more stop attending than new attendees show up.

    The FATEs aren't going to be removed from the game. No one needs to fear missing out. Wait a few weeks and the number showing up will start thinning out and the bosses will last longer.

    Man, I would love boss fates that scaled to how many players are present in the fight. That would be so sick!

    They do scale some but there's a cap to how far one will scale. Right now, so many players are showing up the cap is greatly exceeded.

    They'll feel better in a few weeks when the "must have now" players have their rewards and the hype dies down. It happens every expansion.

    Not necessarily.. Behemoth FATEs in Coerthas are level 50, but only sync you down to 70. Odin no longer scales on defeat, is fixed at level 50, and also only syncs down to 70.
    The big HW FATEs sync down to 70, but that's slightly less impactful.
    Ixion, down to 80.
    Wasn't until ShB (well.. EW technically) that the big FATEs synced to within 4 levels instead of 10.
