7.0 Expert dungeons are a step in the right direction.

These are fun, engaging, and fast-paced.

The mechanics are also interesting, though none are particularly innovative.

That's not a huge problem because they're using them in a way that makes the bosses feel different from each other and isn't just in/out, spread/stack etc.

They are punishing, but I think this is firmly a positive step in the right direction.

There are also hints of the developers trying to make trash mobs interesting: Tender Valley has a few mobs with AoE autos, which can damage nearby party members pretty quickly. Deadwalk has two large dolls doing Slapstick, an AoE pulse.

These are good, and these are steps in the right direction.

Haven't unlocked them yet but glad to hear they're harder. I found valigarmader pretty challenging and even died a few times. Same on the 2nd dng last boss. A+

For all the shit i'm giving to the story and all the reused assets, the children themed ambiance and characters in every way, i think they delivered in the dungeon and Trial department at least.

But i'm already encountering people leaving the haunted / luigi's mansion dungeon in expert roulette and most of the time these people deciding to quit that dungeon, are saying they are going to go out of their way to avoid it at any cost, that's sad, it's one of my favorites ! Heh.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is an Expert Dungeon? I've been playing for some years yet this is the first time I read that term, and I feel stupid lol.

It's basically the post game dungeons or the latest dungeons they add in patched content.

Expert Dungeons are the max level Dungeons you generally find in Expert Roulette, the current 2-3 Dungeons with current Gear requirements.

Luigi's Mansion was definitely one of the hardest dungeons to learn the first time. I've done it once, and I kept getting screwed, but thanks to tank privilege and a patient healer who took good care of everyone, we pulled through with no wipes.

I just did the lvl 95 dungeon and the final boss was very fun in terms of difficulty, mechanics and setting. It was a breath of fresh air.

that dungeon fucking blows, and it's all because of the first boss. as a melee if you get touched once its just over. feels so fucking bad being bound for like 3 seconds and not being able to attack for like 8, and on top of that those little add guys will dive for you even when you think you dodged them
