Just gonna ignore everything else I said, huh? She's clearly trying, and she has moments that clearly meant for humor. You picked one of those moments while ignoring all the other times he treats her like a child when it's unwarranted. Opinion rejected.Maybe she should act more like an adult then. He warned her about how the Pelupelu use honeyed words to make a sale and to not buy just whatever. What's the first thing she does? Gets almost swindled into buying a blanket she doesn't need. If Erenville wasn't there she would have went through with the needless sale he just warned her about.
Every time she's treated like a child it's warranted. How old is Wuk supposed to be exactly? Because she acts like a teenager. Also if that was meant to be humor, the joke didn't land well and only painted Wuk out to be an idiot.
7,000 people on earth and I will protect them all.
I'd assumed that as she's childhood friends with Erin she must be about the same age and I assume he must be at least mid 20s

I'm just going to say it now. Wuk reminds me of Caillou with her random outbursts. Caillou was not a good show by the way.

And your "criticism" is just so brave and insightful! "People in here can't follow the plot of a picture book.". No direct reference to who you're talking to. No discussion from your end regarding the story or the character we're discussing. Just "people in here are dumb". Absolutely mindblowing commentary! It's interesting to try and write this as a mocking response when two thirds of it is literally the argument you're making.
Public criticism begets public criticism.
If you step up in someone's defense, you generally get conflated with their opinion, yeah. Case in point: I've never actually stated my opinion on the character or the story, but some assumptions have already been made, haven't they?
You're right! You sure haven't stated your opinion on the story or the character! Your only opinion thus far as been "everyone in here is dumb" and "I don't like when people make threads disliking characters". Welcome! This is called a forum! Here we discuss our opinions on the game, its plot, and characters!
Please, bless us with more of your boundless insight and incredibly well thought out criticism! You have so many interesting and relevant things to say!

Maybe get through the story before you pass judgment. I myself haven't finished yet either but I have a strong feeling she's going to go through a FFX/One Piece Tidus/Luffy style maturing as the story goes on through experience. I think her being obnoxious at the start is kind of the point, ya dig?
That is fair indeed but I counter you with the following...Maybe get through the story before you pass judgment. I myself haven't finished yet either but I have a strong feeling she's going to go through a FFX/One Piece Tidus/Luffy style maturing as the story goes on through experience. We've had stories like this before where we see a passionate, but often foolhardy, MC learn hard lessons and become strong. The most obvious example is Luke Skywalker from the original trilogy.
If we want to be fair and go with a female lead, I'll reference Cerys from the Witcher 3. You can support her to become Queen, and also witness her growth from an immature person to a person who is capable to become a ruler.
Now here's the thing, neither of those cases had the MC to be utterly unbearable. If you don't know the reference, please look up what a "Poochie" is. Wuk literally is a Poochie (One NPC pretty much said it as well). You can show immaturity, passion, and nativities without destroying your audience's brain cells and patience.
Uh, even if she becomes a saint that solves IRL climate change and world hunger it still doesn't excuse her being an annoying, obnoxious teenage girl all the way up to Lv95 (she doesn't change for the better after that but I'm not going to spoil it).Maybe get through the story before you pass judgment. I myself haven't finished yet either but I have a strong feeling she's going to go through a FFX/One Piece Tidus/Luffy style maturing as the story goes on through experience. And the more important issue is that in good pieces of fiction, annoying and immature characters are seen as annoying by everyone else. But in anime, written-for-12-year-olds land, because their target audience is literal annoying teenagers it's fine for everyone to cheer the annoying teenager doing something stupid, idiotic, and asinine.
The story in DT is written for 12 year olds.
Starting off bad intentionally isn't really a good thing to do. It makes getting to the "good" parts that may or may not exist down the line a slog. A story should start out good. Also that comparison isn't great since Tidus is a stranger in a strange land and he's trying his best to get acclimated to this new world. Wuk is surprisingly uneducated about the land she wants to rule over.Maybe get through the story before you pass judgment. I've just slogged through 2 days of her being terrible, if they wanted to make her this poor to allow for growth they needed a far better story going on around herMaybe get through the story before you pass judgment.
