Dawntrail character graphics update - opinions, requests and discussion megathread

I tried my best to get used to the change. I did everything I could to just accept that these are the way things are, but I honestly despise the way my character looks. I hate her look. She's not the character I had when I logged off. Her face is so puffy and swollen and I'm just beyond trying to figure out how badly they messed up this face. Her lips, nose, distance between lips and chin, massive pointed chin with rounded off cheeks... I just hate it. This is the viera I've been waiting on since 1.x. This was my viera that I fashioned literally every character to the best of my ability in every game I play now, and they absolutely destroyed her. She looks like a monster. A stone faced, dead eyed monster. Not the soft loving kind viera. I'm sorry I've nothing constructive, I just hate it. I tried to get hype, I stayed up, got in the que, and as of now, I never want to log back in again. Hopefully a good rest will help and when the que calms down and I try to salvage something with a fantasia I'll feel differently, but right now.. I want my money back and this legacy vet is wanting to just throw in the towel.

My character now looks like an emaciated, ghoulish version of her former self that had one too many botched facial surgeries. This is what I have to look forward to seeing now in every cutscene? Passively as I stand about? In all my portraits at the start of every duty? My character is the gateway to my emotional connection to this game and they've ruined her. They've ruined her and I have no faith it'll be fixed. It never needed to be fixed at all. What a horrible start to what should have been so exciting. I took time off work for this disgrace. Never again.

Unfortunately I did not document the change before for the two photos below, but I am not expecting the eyes to be that puffy, considering there is change on lighting system as well.
Between face got extra years older with extra lines, perpetually frowning expression, change on nose shape, I am just done lol. If they only want face#4 as the default face then so be it.

As expected, my fears are true. Nothing has changed and my WoL has completely lost her identity.

I don't know who this is. Where is my character? Who is this? What happened?

Where is the pretty character I had before? What happened to her lips? Her grin? Her eye shape? Her gaze?

How do I even describe how this feels? I'm sorry, but this is just the worst possible outcome. This is awful.

I don't think I want to play the MSQ. I don't even know what to do. This is really bad. This is really really bad.

That is exactly how I feel as well. My character looks like a dull doll version of who she was and she even has texture bugs with white patch on her hands and her tail looks a different shade than the scales

My seeker of the sun with Face 1 and Eye shape 6 has gone from stoic to stoned during the idle pose. It improves when using emotes, but the default face looks so vacant... Honestly not sure what to do to fix it.

I think they've messed badly with the male Miqo'te eye structure and then tried to cover the difference with makeup.

I haven't looked at face 1 so closely, since my Miqo'te characters are using faces 3 and 4, but I've realised with face 3 (at least in the benchmark) that the eyelids are lowered and then there's heavy eyeliner above the eyelashes to resemble the shape of what used to be shadow below the eyelashes.

I cannot believe these are the same character holy crap... Male sunseekers got hit so hard... Yeah I don't think I have the heart to login anytime soon lol

I actually think its mostly the shadowing on the iris itself, it makes the eyes appear more dull and glazed over. The eyelids definitely don't help though

Why do the scale textures look so much worse?!

Don't have photos of before and after, but what in the hell went on to get to where we have?

Using female Viera, I don't even look like what was in Endwalker.
I now look like puffy face cheeto with bunny ears on a headband.
And the background textures? Bro, I didn't realize I was playing on a PS1 or N64. Maybe even a 3DS. It made Pokemon S/V look good (and we all know how that went down).
Foreground graphics look like I'm playing off a PS3, MAYBE 4.
My ears look like they have little to no fur. Hair looks like it's just a solid rather than that where you can easily see each strand/batch kind of deal (I can't think of a way to word it).

(I'm going to note now, I'm running on absolute MAX at almost 4K. The graphics shouldn't be THIS laughable at that kinda quality. This is just to give people a rough idea).

EDIT: I just noticed this now, but I also noticed in both cutscenes around the pillars (ya know the ones), the shadow effect from my eyes don't effect just below the eyes and the eye bag area. My whole face looks like I've lived in a coal mine for the last 3 weeks, and the slightest turn of my head in a cutscene makes me look like I've gone out and
