I like the look of the changes personally, I think I will enjoy them but ofc the proof is in the pudding. Got to play it in the content and see how it feels. Excited ^^

I feel like if you like non standard BLM ur going to dislike the changes.
If you like standard BLM you're going to be fine with the changes, Personally I play standard so the changes look "fine" to me.
You can have both though? It's not like non standard BLM removed the ability for any one to play standard.
I'm looking forward to returning to BLM in DT, loved it in ShB, didn't like it in EW ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Which rotation a player happens to use more isn't the factor to look at. What's important here is if a player wants to look for opportunities to optimizes dynamically instead of performing the same static rotation for the entire fight. Non standard lines are a boon for standard rotation users as long as they find adjusting on the fly interesting. If we're going to be forced to go through our full rotation in every situation we've lost decision making and the chance to be creative, and is boring. It's boring for experienced BLM's that might be using non standard regularly and it's boring for beginner BLM's that use non standard once in every dozen fights. People aren't defending the unintended rotations for the sake of numbers, or at least I don't see why they would. They're defending it because it genuinely makes BLM less about mindless repetition and memorization. Those things are heavily ingrained into FF14's combat design and it's terrible for gameplay longevity.
I have been a BLM main since 1.0 and this change is one of the most exciting one in a long time imo.
man, this is an unfathomably poor take in all sorts of ways, you were never forced to do nonstandard and if you knew what you were talking about you'd know it's more than just a transpose gimmickI was told three years ago that the official rotation was the Fire IV/Blizzard III/Blizzard IV that is now being enhanced. We have been told for years to abide by the standard consensus per The Balance Discord and other places. When, in the last three years, did they change the rotation? And who authorized it? Because anyone reading their tooltips would believe that the standard rotation as mandated to us three years ago was the best one. Anyone who forces a change upon the community after max level has been reached is just doing so for selfish reasons. Probably "minmaxers" who obsess over their color number on a certain website.
We have been told time and time again that there is a very limited way in which we can play our classes, and if we "freestyle", we are "trolling". Now those same people are getting upset that their freestyle Transpose gimmick is being rightfully thrown out.
yuck, honestly, prime yuck, maximum yuck, your comments have been scattered around these posts and range from clueless to sadistic, it's very depressing

I will never understand how people don't get this: once we have the tooltips, we already KNOW how the jobs will play. What new information do you think will be gleaned from playing the job vs. having all the info from the media tour?Is it a hot take to suggest people should wait until they actually play the job(s) before passing judgement? Don't get me wrong, I expect the conversation to get even more heated up after release, but it's just weird to see judgements being passed by from only previews and 3rd party reports.
"Oh, I had predicted that choosing between dropping flare star or losing enochian because I had to cancel a fire IV cast to move out of an AoE, and the tools I would normally use to recover are removed, would feel terrible but it actually feels great now that I'm the one pressing W!"
