When it should be your 30 second cooldown AOE healing addersgall spender instead of a boring flat heal that does nothing to serve Sage's identity.
Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.
He been playing Ultimate: transitioning the game from 1.0 to 2.0 and lost 14 years of his life
Pretty much this.
I also saw a 1 Tank 3 DPS on the new dungeon so damage clearly hasn't changed enough and healers are, as expected... I already know what I'm doing next expansion. Dropping healer and playing DPS. u.u
DO you mind posting the link if you can find it? WOuld like to see
Hot take: I actually like that it's a long CD since it keeps Kardia swapping relevant. I'm just peeved the new oGCD has no Kardia interaction.
I'll give healer a try up until level 100. If I do not like it, I'm off the role, entirely. Was this what Yoshi P wanted for people like me? Did he assume we were too foolish to take any semblance of complexity? How could such an allegedly open developer act so dismissive towards his own players? The flavor of the jobs I loved so much throughout the franchise were mere husks of themselves. What was once a magical world peeled away to reveal a sterile room of four walls. No imagination, no challenge, only accessibility for the sake of it. I didn't feel welcomed, I felt betrayed.
I don't get how hardcore raiding is supposed to be accessible when 90% of the game is so easy you don't have to pay attention. I tried Savage for the first time with Abyssos and I was definitely not prepared from playing normal mode content. The way how they streamlined the "Insta Fill Job Gauge" abilities, it's pretty blatant telling that they don't even know what to do with Job Gauge in general.
Instead thinking why player hoard Job Gauge resource to begin, they just streamlined it further so it wouldn't be over-capped.
Job Gauge over-capping wouldn't be an issue if there's is a plethora ways to spend Job Gauge other than save it for burst window DPSing.
You can tell they want hardcore raiding to be as accessible as possible to as many mid core player as they can by move difficulty on job design to encounter design, so more mid-core player could raid-logging, which means more yearly revenue for SQEX.
I don't know how Kardia swapping is supposed to be relevant though? Like, how you heal does vary based on the difficulty of the content. In easier content, you really only heal with Addersgall because you have to burn them anyway for MP, and the game is constantly pouring them on you so much you have to burn random Druocholes to avoid overcapping. So while you certainly can bounce Kardia around, its not exactly conserving resources you would otherwise be using. Then when you get into harder content, all of it involves 8 people (except for Criterion which no one does). It's not very time efficient to try and bounce Kardia around 8 targets to try and preserve healing resources, and the healing isn't really fast enough to meet the healing requirements of older content. The only swapping that you really seem to do is swapping when there's a tank swap, or during P3S where the off tank actually is taking quite a bit of auto attack damage. Outside of that though? Kardia bouncing is hard to really justify being either too much or too little.

The only time kardia swapping ever feels relevant is using it in alliance raids to pad my APM because it’s funny watching the DPS get angry I’m not healing them when they are my current kardia target and there is no damage for another 40 seconds
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Fair points. I tend to be stingy with my Addersgall since god only knows when two or more people will stand in an AOE. Perhaps I'm just desperate to do anything when I'm spamming Dosis.

So I've been thinking about if its possible to jerry-rig a rotation for Sage that attempts to make it more fun to play, but a caveat to this is intentionally ignoring what actions actually do and pretending certain actions are different than what they currently are. Naturally, this means playing Sage intentionally poorly, and doing things like turning off flying text to hide from any reminder that this rotation is, in fact, not effective. TBH, I have no idea if I can disconnect that notion from my mind while trying to play, but this is what I have in mind:
Pneuma: Treat this like a DPS nuke that is used on cooldown every 120 seconds.
Eukrasian Dyskrasia: Wait to cast this until Eukrasian Dosis III's duration is down to 15 seconds, this way rather than just dumping DOTs every 30 seconds, you are alternating DOTs every 15 seconds.
Eukrasian Diagnosis: Treat this as the best solution for any and all tankbusters.
Toxikon II: Treat this like it actually deals good damage, effectively like a second Phlegma.
Addersgall: Ignore Addersgall capping and just use it when AOE healing is needed.
At this point I don't really know what I plan to do. I feel defeated. I don't want to wait for 8.0. I waited for Endwalker. I waited for Dawntrail. I want to enjoy this game but I just don't know how. Maybe this will work, or maybe I'm just being delusional.
